My Gene and Tina centered episode has to do with horses. Tina wins a free trip to a ranch for two. She invites everyone, but nobody really wants to go, except Gene. Gene is enthusiastic about it, so they go for a week of rustic living and horseback riding. There is a heart-warming moment where Tina teaches her little brother about horses, and, though he is nervous, just like when he was home alone, Gene takes off and does well. Tina, for the record, gets to ride a good horse this time and does very well. However, Gene proves to be her equal at horse riding, and a bit better at all the other aspects of ranch life. BBQ, wood whittling, the hoedown, and just being the life of the party leads to Tina becoming a bit jealous that Gene is having what she thought would be her moment in the sun. On top of that, Gene proves to be adept at handling a horse in more than just riding, being able to lasso or save an animal from a stream while Tina watches on. Basically, Gene is being Gene and Tina is being Tina. One jumps in without testing the waters, the other a bit clumsy but passionate all the same. This culminates in a moment where Tina gets a little upset, and Gene tells her that he was only able to do all he did because she inspired him. Gene gushes praise for Tina, telling her what an amazing sister she is and how much he values her qualities as a moral compass, a steady rock to the rest of the family's mischief, and how he feels scared about a lot but faces his fears because he has seen her do so many times, and that when he is around her, he does not feel scared. The episode ends happily with Gene and Tina line dancing together with everyone at a campfire while fiddles play, marshmallows are roasted, and Tina gets a small dance with her crush and a big dance with her brother. This idea has a few more possibilities. Tina could crush over a young cowboy who is more interested in teaching Gene the rural way than girls. Also, if somehow Gene and Tina, now adept at line dancing, could have a moment with Big Bob, their grandpa, that would be sweet. That could be for a later episode, where Tina and Gene surprise grandpa with the fact that they both are pretty good at line dancing.
I love their dynamic because it reminds of the one i have with my little brother. Im the eldest daughter and hes the youngest son and i love him so much \(^^)/
Tina’s constant fluctuations between teen neuroticism and teen fantasy/delusion pairs so fucking perfectly with Gene’s puppy dog level emotional support. He’s a perfect yes-man for her
Thank you for making a Tina and Gene compilation. They make for a great forgotten dynamic. Much material for all three, the two sisters, and the two youngest siblings, but this one was probably the hardest to do and the most fun to watch.
wow, ive been watching this show from the beginning and it just hit me that tina is really putting out some original velma dinkley vibes...if she ever crawls on the floor and says, 'i can't see without my glasses' i dont think i will ever be able to pick my jaw up off the floor
