Thank you very much for your kind comments. We were surprised to see such small cubs so close to the “road” as well. I think mama lion went hunting and left daddy in charge😅
@@AzTravels111 Oh my goodness I didnt know that was possible Mama trusting Dad to watch over cubs while she's away. Can you please answer a few questions?? If mom doesn't return because let's say she & other pride females are hunting aggressive buffalo mom gets wounded ( oh no I pray not) doesn't return will papa desert their cubs ?? Shouldn't the cubs be hidden somewhere not following Papa?? Won't Papa leave the cubs if he gets hungry or decides to go protect his perimeter?? Is mom naturally thinking I must rush back to my cubs they're waiting for her? Or is that only a human mama response to leaving her babies ?? I realize you're very busy with your tourist responsibilities so whenever you have extra time to reply 😊 Thank you & be careful Hello from Wash DC USA
@@ajajajaj624 ha ha we actually live in Virginia near tysons corner in Washington DC area and we learnt all this on our trip to Kenya and Tanzania this summer from the safari guides. Basically, a pride of lions has multiple lionesses and one male lion. Believe it or not the female lionesses take care of all the cubs together even if they are of another lioness. So even if one lioness gets hurt or injured, the other lionesses will take care of the cubs as their own. The male lion keep an eye on the cubs if all lionesses have gone for a hunt usually not all go, so this was very rare. but at least in Serengeti or Ngorongoro crater the hunt does not take a long time because there are so many zebras or wilder beasts or antelopes etc that the lioness can catch something quickly. So really the lion doesn’t have to do much other than to rest or mate. Lionesses are very demanding and a male lion on average has to mate 10 times a day, we were told that they bite the lion in the private area to urge the lion to mate.
