This was amazing! ❤ I came here from a 1980’s SCTV episode where a young Eugene Levy was impersonating a Jack Carter…which sounded like Rick & Morty copied the style of Jack? The further back the n comedy time I go the smarter and funnier it gets.
This is the support so many other young men need at the time. I happy James had this. This was important. He had the family and friends that so many others did not.
Space Balls is my favorite movie. Saw it as a kid before I ever saw a star wars movie. I didn't have a reference for most of the jokes. Mel Brooks helped form my humor at a very young age and an outgoing Spaceballs sequel would be such a gift. Even if it sucked.
I can go all the way to the "Texaco Star Theatre" and watching my favorite comic, Milton Berle. As a kid, one of favorite moments was when a supposed unsuspecting Milton would say the word "Makeup." A guy would come out from the stage's wings with a huge powder puff filled with powder and hit Uncle Miltie. pow right in the kisser! I loved that and also when he would dress up as a woman. He was just the very best. They broke the mold with this multi-talented performer. He loved being "on" and we all loved him back.
Red was one of the best! Great to watch these clips, including the Dean Martin Roasts. Comedy today has fallen down the stairs and I am still waiting for it to get up.
