Understanding story is woefully taken for granted. I saw it in my writer's workshop for 25 years. People think, "I can write my name. So I can be a writer." And this mindset has seeped up the ranks of the one place that used to be on guard against it: Hollywood.
I don't think there trying to recreate Agatha all along song i think its sort of a musical 😂 plus people don't realize the last 3 projects marvel has released have been hits. Gotg3, X-men 97, and Deadpool and wolverine.
Sure theres been some great stuff, but your leaving out the projects in between those that did not resonate with most of the audience at all (Secret Invasion, The Marvels, Echo). And honestly, I've never really vibed with musical numbers in the MCU. The WandaVision instance was fine, and it may be here too (obviously haven't seen it, so I guess we'll have the wait and see), but it didn't work at all for me in The Marvels.

Good, honest reaction and thoughts. Thank you. Man, I am interested and excited for this...have been, since 2022, when it was revealed at SW Celebration. Skeleton Crew was supposed to release around Thanksgiving of 2023, but the Writers and Actors Strikes put the kibosh on its PR and promotions. The rumor going around between Hollywood insiders, is that the supposed bad vibes about this upcoming Disney + series, are coming from certain high-up individuals at Lucasfilm Ltd., who passionately touted, The Acolyte as a quality, ground-breaking show...and, due to the response from a substantial swathe of the SW Fan base to the controversial Headland story, they're disgruntled that their show didn't make The Top 10 during its run, and are aware that there's more of a traditional, non-confrontational vibe coming from, Skeleton Crew, and that the general audience is more positive (and supportive) towards the creators and producers/collaborators (Watts, Ford, Favreau, Filoni). Basically, sour grapes. Let's face it: The Acolyte was a very AMORAL and IMMORAL SW story; and one that broke official Lucas-verse canon, and injected rather fringe contemporary social concepts in to its narration. Skeleton Crew, as you rightly stated, is a love letter homage to Spielbergian/Amblin 1980s projects like, E.T., The Goonies, Back To The Future, Poltergeist, Indiana Jones (w/ George Lucas), and the TV anthology series, Amazing Stories. The series will resonate way more with the general Disney + viewing audience, as well as diehard SW Fans. I'll put it this way: When Skeleton Crew creates a better buzz in the zeitgeist, maintains better Nielsen ratings overall, and sells more merchandise compared to The Acolyte, certain camps at Lucasfilm Ltd. will be salty. 🧂 May The Force Be With You, Brother.
I couldn't have said it better myself. Of course I don't know what's really going on over there, but this all entirely believeable based on Lucasfilms track record over the last decade as well as countless stories of bts drama. The Acolyte is just one of those things that I want to move on from and never speak of again. But I really vibed with this trailer, and honestly the more I've watched it, the more I like it. I grew up on Goonies, ET, Back to the Future and countless other Speilberg hits, so this really hit for me. Again, based on Lucasfilms past several D+ live action projects, we really don't know if it's gonna be any good. Though considering who's behind the series, I have faith that they'll provide us with a great time. Time will only tell though. I can't help but go into every show at this point with an open mind, but also a heavy dose of optimism. But thank you for the kind words. I'm just trying to be completely honest when it comes to my feelings and covering content on the channel. Jon Favreau said that over a year ago. Yes, I refer to The Crapolyte as, The Show That Shall Never Be Spoken Of Again. I am avoiding discussions about it; however, I just saw a GREAT critical analysis of it on RU-vid, that broke it down to pieces within 20 minutes, and all of its post-modern histrionics. The irony: I'm very much enjoying MOST of The High Republic Multimedia Initiative (since it came out in 2021), and Leslye Headland's show is not a good representative of that 400-year-plus long era in The SWU. Thankfully, the collection of stories told in Phases One thru Three of the books, comics, and Animated series, is WAY BETTER and follows George Lucas' template for SW storytelling, for the most part. Lucasfilm Ltd. has become too compartmentalized, over the last 10 years; and it's resulting in mixed results all over...
My biggest thing when it comes to entertainment based properties, is that I don't listen to what other people say about it. Everyone has their own opinion. I will judge it for myself. As a 90's kid, I'm looking forward to this one.
It's kinda hard for Mephisto to be a "major character of the MCU" when he hasn't even been introduced yet. And I wouldn't say Agatha is a major player in the MCU, more or less a major player in the comics. A cool character for sure and what they did with her in WandaVision was pretty solid, but from what I've seen from the trailers, it's not enough to get me even mildly intrigued. Happy that some are excited for it, but it just doesn't look like it's for me.
listen man MCU is pretty far away from the comics rn so let's take that out. That said the series looks interesting, I think is good they are doing their own thing
This and Ironheart are the last of the shows greenlit under Marvels old ways of thinking "we can make whatever we want and people will watch it". The leaked Ironheart trailer looks kinda interesting though, better than I was expecting, but I'm with you. I can't help but think about the countless things fans have been begging for (Ghostrider, Nova, a revived Punisher series, hell even Moon Knight Season 2) that they could've spent time and money on. Agatha's a fine character but was anyone really begging for her to get her own series? They really greenlit this show all because the song topped charts before most people tuned out of the D+ MCU shows.
@@mon_arkYTummm no if you watched the BTS the creator of wandavision she had more ideas after finishing Wandavision and they all included Agatha, Kevin decided to use the ideas and turn into a Agatha show. It had nothing to do with the song.

Definitely a new and different take on Star Wars very Goonies / stranger things the whole suburb thing I think some people are complaining about however who's to say if all those planets there is not a place like that

Only real difference is that I am excited for Agatha, if the teen in the trailer is who people are guessing it is. One of the things I look forward to is Spectrum's journey into another universe and her meeting up with someone from the Sacred Timeline. Could be another 10 years for another "Endgame" movie that's a culmination of what has happened.
After watching Acolite episode 5, Dave Filony as the new head of Star Wars IP said that an R-rating SW movie is planned. This series is great, unfortunately it happened that a black woman and a white woman have two daughters together. So classic homophobes, sexists and racists. With the Deadpool and Wolverine movie, Marvel returns to filmography such as winter soldier, Agents of Shield, Defenders series...MCU 4. Saga that ended B.P. Wakanda Forever. Kevin Feige and at the beginning of the saga said they wanted to experiment in genres because of Secret Wars, therefore the 4th phase was like that.
You said many truthful things about SW but Filoni was not in charge of creative production when The Acolyte was finished with principle production. Disney as a business is in real trouble because of the rote that has been in it for over 10 years like other businesses that went woke, ESG, Corporate Index and DEI are now the major players for this company. Disney think they're too big to fail but when the parks stop making profit it will be interesting to see if they still believe they're too big to fail.

I love it when people realize something is super off about halfway through the episode, and then they get to the end of the episode and realize how really off it is.
Disney is showing us what happens when DEI controls your business. KK is determined to change a boy brand SW into a girl brand and when she said "The Force is Female" she was letting us know what her intentions were. Disney attacking the SW fans and UT helping them by shadow banning and giving strikes to reviewers criticizing Disney SW will back fire on them. Disney think they're too big to fail will be their achilles heel.
