my dad played the fallout games alot when i was young, dang i remember watching my dad play fallout multiple times in the past. and now i had grown in love with fallout.
I mean, you can free them solving the failsafe puzzle, it makes sense that they die, since at that point the machines are the only thing that keep them alive, same for Braun. I agree with his punishment. He gets to suffer alone, forever.
I think Fallout 3 achieved very nicely bringing to the player, the sensation on loneliness, fear and desth danger. Its places were made with a lot more detail to be apocalitic, something I didn't feel in FO4.
Second Fallout is the legendary of game-civilization, for its nature right)) Most american games good, but without real talents of "creators", but Fallout 2 not that type of "product"))
The feeling of lonliness this game evoked was very powerful. Ide wander through the wastes looking at the desolation and thinking 'wow - we really messed this planet up'
I appreciate this Fallout’s soundtrack the most as I always have the radio on in 4 and NV. This game really encapsulates isolation and creepy atmosphere. It’s perfect 🥹
What I find so fascinating about Fallout is how it somehow makes the nuclear apocalypse desirable not in an immediate way but it somehow communicates the opposite of its appearance which is life, not death. The legitimate Fallout games (1 up to New Vegas) are all very horrific but nevertheless, you feel more alive playing those games than you did when you played Fallout 4 because the horror signifies the real. The music is the perfection of this quality that honestly makes the game. It melds signs of past life with the horror of the apocalypse making it more energising in a way that plays in my head so often.
the fascination with post-apocaliptic (not in an immediate way) always made me think. Its like a hidden way of not agreeing to the current way of living? values? modern slavery (to some extent). Its all fake - no one would like to live in it, right? but at the same time there is longing in us for a simpler world with simpler rules, closer to nature>?
To me the story of Randall Clark, aka Honnest Hearts's survivalist elevates it all. 11 years old me reading through his logs for the first time was left speechless, I remember when I'd get in bed and think of that scenario but with me in it, where would I be ? Where would I go ? what would I do ? How do I get clean water, food etc. It may sound silly but I just liked it, and I never thought to myself "Oh man that would be cool" even as a kid, Fallout and Metro games had already taught me the cold, brutal horror of a nuclear holocaust.
Makes me sad in a nostalgic way. My best friend who’s now dead used to play this ! Listening to this brings forth floods of memories 😢😢😢😢❤❤❤ lovely music

Coming back years after to listen to this sweet piece once more. Ah, sweet young, teenage blissful memories... I first played Fallout in 2011 when my dad got me 3 and New Vegas when I was around middle school. I couldn't disagree, it was the best gift I've ever gotten. Thank you, Dad, and may your soul find peace.
I’ve always preferred FO3 to New Vegas as I prefer the desolated apocalyptic loneliness of it. New Vegas is amazing but is much more chaotic and you don’t get many of those moments of loss felt in FO3.
