Angus Burke has been playing the Great Highland Bagpipe since 1998, when he started at the age of eight. In the intervening years he has performed with several pipe bands, traveling the globe for competitions and performances as parts of ensembles. He also has an extensive solo performance career, performing special occasions, parties, and competing at the top level of amateur piping where he has won top prizes in international contests in both Canada and the United States. On top of all of this, he also teaches in the Southern Indiana, USA region. He also composes bagpipe music and plays the Scottish Smallpipes.
Here you'll find videos of his competition performances, hired performances, tune demonstrations for compositions, as well as tune recordings for students on the bagpipe's learning instrument, the practice chanter.
Angus currently plays with the grade 2 Greater Midwest Pipe Band based in Battle Creek, Michigan and is the current president of the Bloomington Pipers' Society.
Thanks for posting this..learning the J.Reid Maxwell snare drum beating to '79th Farewell to Gibraltar' as well as our band is playing 'Prince Charles Welcome to Lochaber' so I have both tunes right here to practice to. Nice job
well done brother, I would have loved to listen to all 6 Parts. But except from this I really enjoyed listening to you. Good 6/8 swing and nicely sounding pipes.
How lovely this is, slowed down!!! Just beautiful. And i love the standard ("slightly faster") version. But again - this is a welcome alternative. Thank you for posting!
