Noria Corporation, the publisher of Machinery Lubrication magazine is an unconventional publisher. Why? Because in addition to publishing and providing conferences and training, Noria provides a range of services related to machinery lubrication and oil analysis. Our entire editorial team is comprised of practicing professionals that make up the leadership of Noria's consulting and service team.
G'day Wes, Greetings from Australia. I was scrolling through my RU-vid and this one from you caught my eye especially when I saw Lake was your special guest. Anything with Lake Speed jr I gotta watch. This particular video was most interesting. Gee the related technologies have come so far. I really enjoyed it and look forward to more viewing from both of you gentlemen. Learning so much. Thanks heaps.
Ah yes what he said about the marketing guys… as an end user it is almost impossible to decide which oil is best because on the bottle or tub of every lubricant they all just say best performing in every criteria. No matter what tub you pick up. It’s impossible to make a choice without technical data and information about the lubricants makeup. Which is always difficult or impossible to find
Very cool to hear racing evolution stories! For anyone really interested in learning this stuff from the ground up, ABMA and AGMA have some excellent programs taught by people who worked under the forefathers of the industry.
Awesome video!! #Noria is awesome!! These fine folks know exactly how to do this work and how to teach these courses (gold standard operation all around!!) and, as you can see, it is impactful for the clients. No fluff. Just results!!
Great discussion, it is really underestimated how much culture is a contributing factor in reliability. A reliability engineer can make all the correct data driven changes to maintain or increase working ratio, but it doesn't matter unless the whole maintenance team is on board. I'm going to start presenting our KPI's to the group on a regular basis and discuss the tactics that they are executing to drive them. Great podcast! Thanks!
This was an absolute blast!!! Thank you, Wes and Noria Corporation, for having me on Gear Talk. This was a really fun experience and conversation. Wes does an outstanding job of hosting and drawing out meaningful insights to help keep us all moving forward in the maintenance community whether it's tool, methodologies, or the like. 👍👍👍
Dr. John Ross is an awesome individual that gets it when it comes to maintenance and reliability and pretty much anything related to it - A very generous man that's interested in helping folks first and foremost through training and knowledge transfer!!!
Excellent four days at Reliable Plant & Machinery Lubrication 2023, big thanks to Noria and the team at Reliable Plant for inviting UPTIME Consultant Ltd across from the UK (39 seconds into video) we had a blast meeting new people and sharing our knowledge freely with other maintenance professionals. We hope to see you next June in Chicago 🇺🇸🙌
Great question! Hydrolysis can occur whenever there is water present. Typically, that's from water ingression (either from direct ingression via washdowns, wet processes, etc or from ingression through humidity that then condenses in the headspace of the machine). That said, it's certainly possible that water can find its way into the oil via other methods (improper storage of drums or even oil that is contaminated right from the supplier) which is why we always suggest testing and filtering new oil before putting it into service.
