Very impressive operation! I still have plenty of pics of dad working the kalispell tanker base in the late 1960’s. Fond memories of a ride in the pb4y2 that season
That's a fun video all, and it's important work you all do out west. I'll have a video showing the history of N474NA out on Wendesday. Thank you again.
One day i would either be flying for the marine science field or more preferably doing this and not only be a pilot like my grandfather but help firefighters like him as well :D combining both loves.
Great video. I did the original problem ridden bae146 slurry tanker design for someone else with little or no support. I even had to supply my own software and my own printer for the drawings.Your discharge system is much better.
@@Blowinshiddup Thanks. I went and looked up the BAe 146 and see why they have them. At first I thought it might have been an "air tanker" thing to keep the fire retardant from following the fuselage, ie disrupting the airflow. I prefer the F-111 speed brake, you can catch a nap on it and be out of the weather.
I have worked on all of these tankers in some way in Summerside, PE. The BAe 146 is one of my favorite aircraft to work on. I had the opportunity to go to Montana and work with Neptune on these tankers. What a great bunch of people.
