I have the smart life app and have many IR and door/window sensors. These areno OSI branded. Does this alarm work with other brands, non-OSI, and.can be added to the alarm system, or do they need to be OSI branded?
Can anyone tell me what button in the settings will turn? My light on my sensor is working, but my lights are NOT turning on, and I know there's something in the settings, and I can't remember what it is. Can anyone help me 😢

I have the same system and the same siren. That wireless siren just comes on by itself all time. Now I can not use it because it comes on after a few seconds it turn on or plug the power supply.
You can connect up to 10 wireless sirens to the alarm panel: osigodirect.kb.help/how-to-add-more-than-one-wireless-strobe-siren-to-the-osi-alarm-system/

Hi great video! Quick question: how can I set a window sensor to be excluded once the alarm is armed? I want to leave a window open when I leave the apartment. I tried both, with the sensor on "stay arm active" and "out arm active" but when I arm the alarm with the window open the alarm gets triggered. Thanks a lot in advance!
When you have a door or window left open, and then arm the alarm, it should not set off the alarm, unless after the system is was armed, someone closes the window and then opens the window, this would set off the alarm. The flashing SOS button on the panel indicates, low battery warning and open door/window warning when alarm is armed. Can any 433hrz motion sensor work on this device , there is many similar devices but with different brand name , can all accessories work on all brands?
Currently at this time we do not carry outdoor motion sensors. We do carry Floodlight cameras that function independently from the alarm system. The floodlight camera can be set up to sound a siren when the motion light turns on through the app using a 'scene' function. how many of total devices can be connected? i.e. door sensor, motion sensor etc. after 35 devices its disappearing any more devices amd keeping only 35 devices
Hello, You should be able to add 99 accessories. There could be several reasons why this is happening: 1. If a sensor was paired already, it can't be added again. Check if it's the same sensor you've added already. 2. Try pairing new sensors from the panel instead of the app. 3. Lastly, you may reset it to factory default settings and retry. This will clear any bugs or errors that could be happening we hope this helps!
@@OSIGoDirect 1- I made sure no sensors are eing paired multiple times. 2- I am connecting through panel and not through app. 3- I did not try factory resetting it because i will loose all connected device and i have to map it all over again. But do you think this option will work? if yes i dont mind resetting it
@@pakistanipopsongs9994 It was recommended that performing a factory reset and readding the sensors back to the alarm panel one at a time should solve the issue. Please ensure that the PIR motion sensors are always turned off when pairing them as the PIR sensors are always giving out a signal.
This will be a bit of a long reply You cannot connect any cameras to this Alarm System. The Wifi cameras connect to the same app and you can view up to 16 Cameras at once. The OSI Wi-Fi Cameras are used to compliment the OSI Alarm System by allowing you to quickly view the live and motion recorded video from the cameras to verify who broke into your home or if it may have been a false alary where someone in the house did not disarm the alarm system on time. Also, you mayu use the Wifi Cameras for other security reasons such as monitoring kids, pets, recording any suspicious activity in your home etc ). They both use the same Smart Life app but, the OSI Wi-fi Cameras do not connect physically or wirelessly to the OSI Alarm System. We recommend at least using a couple indoor Mini PTZ Cameras pointed at your front and rear entrences and then a few cameras on teh front such as a camera facing the front yard and driveway and a doorbell camera. then at least one camera at the back of the house. When your alarm is trigged by one of the sensors and you receive a notification to the Smart Life App on your smartphone/tabelet, then instead of having to physically check on your property to see if anyone broke into your house (or call a neighbor or friend to check on your house if you are not close by, then all you have to do is open up teh live camera feeds of your cameras on the same Smart Life app to check to see if anyone is in fact inside your home. Also, if anyone actually did go into your home, you would also get an additional "motion trigger notification" to your smart life app from any of the wifi cameras that the person would have passed by. This gives you an additional confirmation that someone has broken into your home. If your OSI Wifi Camera is set to record only motion, then if someone is in your home it would have recorded the incident as well. So again, to reiterate, the Wifi Cameras do not physically connect to the Alarm System, it only uses the same Smart Life app to control and monitor both the OSI Alarm System but, together work to help with self monitoring and avoid the need to pay for monthly monitoring fees which a regular alarm system requires.
The siren always should be plugged in. However the back up battery will supply power up to 24 hours during a power failure. You will receive a notification in the app when the siren's battery is low. But, generally, the average power failures last seconds to several hours most therfore the sirens power will already have been restored long before the battery runs low.

How to turn on Alarm Notifications for your OSI Alarm System - Android Phones osigodirect.kb.help/how-to-turn-on-alarm-notifications-for-your-osi-alarm-system-android-phones/
The thing that concerns me is the limited stock showing available. For example, on Amazon it says “only 12 left in stock” to me that says you may or may not be able to get the system at anytime, but also you may not be able to get additional items either. That kind of thing makes me nervous to buy this product
Thank you for sharing your concern. We understand that the limited stock notice on Amazon can be unsettling, especially if you’re unfamiliar with our brand. However, rest assured that we consistently replenish our inventory. This new product the OSI Alarm Gen 2 has been selling out quick and has been hard to keep up with inventory! With over 25 years of experience in selling security products, including installations for well-known companies like Tim Hortons, Dairy Queen, Earls, and Wonder, we are committed to meeting demand. Additionally, we offer a wide range of accessories available both on Amazon and through our online store at osigodirect.com.
@@OSIGoDirect I’m not so sure about “selling so fast that keeping stock is a challenge.” type of response. (No offense) it just seems that if you can’t keep a running stock (of any product) that you are going to put people in a bad position
@@OSIGoDirect Hi again, I wanted to explain a little more of my concerns. I own a small home improvement business, and I have seen a lot of people getting gouged by ADT, Vivint, Brinks, etc. My thought was to offer a no contract, touchscreen system exactly like what you carry. My concern is I sell one, just to find out they are not, and may to be for a while, available. Any suggestions? When they are out of stock, is another shipment coming soon, or is it unknown? Thanks! Hey buddy, Thank you so much for your informative videos. I have question about the arm mode when we add smoke alarm to the device. If added smoke sensors, staying disarmed of the security sensors but always staying armed with smoke alarm sensors? I couldn't see such mode at Smart Life App? Thank You!
If you add a smoke alarm the 'Mode' setting should be set to 24 Hours active. Whether you arm, disarm or select Stay home, the Smoke alarm will always be active.
If batteries are removed from the PIR motion sensor the alarm panel will not detect this, however in order for someone to remove the batteries they will need to remove the back cover. If the back cover is removed, that will trigger the motion sensor tamper switch. A notification will be sent to the app indicating the following: OSI Alarm: Tamper and Alarm From: (name of the sensor) The App will also monitor when the PIR Motion sensor battery is low.
Bluetooth is only required when connecting the alarm panel to Smart Life App. Once connected you can turn off your Bluetooth as the alarm panel will rely on the Wi-Fi connection.
Hi, thanx for the very interesting videos! I have one question. Can you install it without the alarm and only get a call when someone opens a door or a window. ( like some sort of silent alarm) I would like to buy it for my mother who has Alzheimer and who is living on her own, to avoid she goes out at night (recently left the home at 4AM to go for a walk). I'm concerned that a loud alarm would freak her out. I live only 180 meters away so if a get a call I can easily find her and escort her back home.
There is the ability to turn off the siren so that is alarms without any sound, however please see this article: osigodirect.kb.help/osi-4g-wi-fi-alarm-system-sim-card-feature-cell-providers-new-smart-life-phone-sms-message-feature/ If you would like to discuss further please contact us here: www.osigodirect.com/contact/ and create a support ticket. Perhaps we can come up with a solution.
In the timer section of the app I set up a schedule. In the schedule it has a notification switch. I turn the notification switch off, gray, so the alarm will not talk when it arms/disarms itself. It still talks and cherps when it arms/disarms. Am I misunderstanding what this switch does?
If you have one of the more recent alarm panels you can disable the arm/disarm notification by following these directions: osigodirect.kb.help/how-do-you-turn-off-the-arm-and-disarm-notifications/ If your app does not display the 'Mode App Sound' under the app settings then it will not be possible to disable the arm and disarm notification. You can disable the cherp sound (arm beep) On the alarm panel select Menu -> Settings-> Switch-> Arm Beep. Select the white/grey squares to turn off the Arm Beep and select the check mark to save the settings.
After you replace the battery, the sensor should still be connected to the alarm panel. You can also press disarm on the alarm panel twice to clear any open door warning messages.
A sim card is not required.. You can receive notification via Wi-Fi or cellular data. osigodirect.kb.help/how-to-turn-on-alarm-notifications-for-your-osi-alarm-system-android-phones/ * There is also a link in this article for iPhones. osigodirect.kb.help/osi-4g-wi-fi-alarm-system-sim-card-feature-cell-providers-new-smart-life-phone-sms-message-feature/
I have just purchased one from Amazon to replace my Nest secure. 1. Does the strobe siren have a backup battery in case of a power failure? If not, how does the siren go off when the alarm is triggered during a power outage? 2. I note the option to wall mount it. Does it have a tamper-proof switch, like the 1st version supposedly has?
Sorry for the late reply, we were not receiving RU-vid notifications. The Strobe Siren has an 8hr back up battery and if wall mounted there is a tamper-proof switch
It is ONVIF compliant, we are not familiar with the Zoneminder Software but it should work with the OSI Smart Video Doorbell if it supports the same ONVIF version. We will do a test this week and let you know though. stay tuned! :)

This is the worst camera ever for instruction!. No trouble shooting if light does not blink. What does the chiming mean?????? I'm so disappointed. None of my other brand camera s were this vague .
I see one of my questions already answered.... :) But... I currently have a gen1 setup, with my panel mounted on the wall using the little mounting piece that ties into the tamper alarm. Does the gen2 panel also mount on the wall? And, if it does, can I use the same screws/anchors in the same positions as the gen1's mounting bracket for the tamper alarm? Or, would I have to fill those holes and drill new ones?
Thank you very much! The video mentioned prices in USD, was curious. Do you have any coupon codes you’d like to share with me? I’d prefer to buy through your website.

Hello. there is no wired siren on this unit. The Gen 1 had this but now this GEN 2 has it built into the display. It has the same 120db audio level as well (nice and clean! no wires and no mounting). It comes with an additional Wireless Strobe Siren that also does not need to be mounted as the entire unit just plugs into an electrical outlet.
@@hivetechnologies5349 Sorry, the Gen 2 alarm panel is not capable of recording or playing a voice when an alarm is triggered. During an alarm the siren will sound on the internal alarm system display and the wireless siren will also sound. If you have connected the alarm panel to the Smart Life app, when the alarm sounds it will send a notification to your phone with a sound. If you are using an android phone you can replace the default notification sound on your phone with a custom sound or voice that you can create or find yourself. Unfortunately, Apple iPhone will not allow custom sounds for the Smart Life App. You can also check out our Gen 2 RU-vid playlist to learn more about our Gen 2 Alarm System. ru-vid.com/group/PLBd6PSVd6oZL6vR7vrcdXYWoWQOaZS2HO
I see you can add as many users as you want via the app, but when people disarm from the app, there is no way to see which tenant did this, I can't use the user codes for tenants because I have 10, not just two, and it's also frustrating that they can only disarm from the app so if they don't have their phone they can't use the alarm system, I don't supply my tenants with phones so it is not reasonable for me to require they have one for the security system, and they could technically disarm the system when they are not even at the building which I don't like, I would rather they be using a code on the screen only. Will there be updates to make this system more advanced and suitable for multiple users? I may as well have had all of my tenants sharing one code since I can't differentiate them coming and going anyway.
