Don't have a bottle loose in your car. There was an accident at an MSV track day this year caused by someone's water bottle getting stuck under the brake pedal. Don't have anything loose in the car on track.
Hi, just got my R Scirroco. Having issues with boot garage say it’s designed this way. Press on fob once, then again for 5 seconds. Standing there ages it opens but can’t lift fully, then it opens 15 seconds later. Is this normal ?
Just picked mine up today, R manual scirocco. Absolutely love it. However 1 thing I hate is the boot. I thought one press the boot opens? Garage told me press once, then wait a second then hit ld down button for 5 seconds? Is this correct?
I just hold down my open boot button and it opens I'd guess I hold it down for 1-2 seconds but I don't have to press anything else first and definitely don't have to hold it down for 5 seconds
Mate with you being at 300bhp ( meant to be 345bhp) what’s your mpg like I just got a R and I can’t get near 30mpg at stock when advertised they should be able to get low 30s when being sensible like even when I’m on cruise control I can’t get near 🤣 I know it’s performance but it’s kinda putting me off from going up to your bhp
Yeh my mpg is terrible, I don't excatly drive efficiently though😂 probs average around the 20 mark, sometime a bit more sometimes a bit less😅 I think the most I ever got was 36mpg and that was just cruising the motorway at 70😂
@@chwenlock yeah ? 🤣 I’m heavy footed as well hence why I got a R just at the weekend there with cruise control for the times that I can just switch off and commute. Quite surprised at the mpg tbh I’ve had other cars sitting near same bhp get better mpg. Ah well cars been bought to have fun was just hoping the mpg would have been better for me to push for more power.
Hello mate, I purchased a grey Scirocco R a couple of weeks ago (not yet showing on my channel). I’m considering putting LED bulbs in place of the Zenons, as I had LEDs in my last car and they were far brighter. Is this something you’ve considered doing? Also, I want to remap my car, Have you got a genuine 350 hp stage 1 + induction kit?
Hello mate, congrats! It's a great car! I haven't upgraded my lights as there are already pretty bright. Originally when I got my car mapped I was told it was making 345bhp and had it dynod at that when mapped, I recently got it dynod again and it was only making 304bhp I do have some issues that won't be helping but I'd say expect around 310-320 on a stage 1 remap. I think the people that did mine inflated the number alot and I didn't know better as it was my first time getting a car mapped, have a look on my channel for the lack of power video I explain it more there 😄
Just looking back at your earlier videos, without supporting mods 300 to 310bhp is about right, you need a sports cat to make real power ( I've got a rocco r as well)
Fully agree. It's about right without any supporting mods. I've got one as well and been researching a lot into these. If you want the best tuner in the country for this engine you need to visit r-tech performance. I'm hoping to get mine down to them next year for stage 2 plus.

Honestly probably not, it's not to bad on the Scirocco cause you can barely see anything out the rear view anyway 😂 but I don't think I'd bother doing it again. But i do have to clean it a lot when dirt builds up on it

When did you last change your hpfp cam follower, and if it was my car and not running right the last thing I would be doing is driving to the nurburgring to thrash it around the track. But have a good trip.
Sounds like they might've just said that as an excuse for why their dyno figure was so much higher. Not saying that there isn't something genuienly wrong with the car, maybe there is... I'd get it looked at independantly and see if the mechanic comes to the same conclusion as DMS
Hello! The one you call central storage space is actually the place for the ashtray. Mine has it there. That explains the size and the 12v socket. The space underneath the armrest in mine is a large single space. Don't know if it is year, country or equipment dependent. As for the boot, considering the fact that it is a 3 door coupe-ish we shall be thankful for what it is.
