2011 Pro 4X with 155000km on it. I have no idea what Ill ever replace it with. I live in the west coast mountains where these are gold... you see an awful lot of truck envy.
Steering would be like new with new tie rods. I replaced mine at 200k miles on my 2006.They just wear down. Just the inner ones needed replacement. I put in leather seats. Looks and feels awesome. There is no need to rush. Driving right gets me over 21 mpg highway.
I LOVE my 2006 xterra and find it to be everything I need in a SUV CEPT, the head room on all the models was dipped up front I guess for the roof rack detox as when I get in and I'm only 5'8 I seriously have to lower my head getting in and I'm this same aspect it makes you wear out the edges of both driver and passenger side seats.
Rock solid engine, drivetrain and overall performance, but the interior is still hot garbage. Same with BMW. For the price I expect class. Mercedes does better much better with that. Hell, even Cadillac.
Well … nothing I consider major but I’ve replaced the front cv axles several times , both upper control arms due to the eccentric bolts freezing up, upper and lower ball joints several times , tie rod ends, distributer because of the crank sensor going bad , valve cover gaskets , no other engine work and no tranny work other than oil changes and timing belts and water pumps Very reliable
I forgot there was a recall on the fuel sending unit , the dealer said the fuel tank had rusted under the sending unit o ring and I needed a new tank , they replaced the tank for free including labor I also have replaced the shocks twice and the radio because the cd player stopped loading discs Also the heater core because one of the pipes thru the firewall broke And replaced the radiator once
I still own a 2009 FX4 with approximately 150K miles I bought new in 2009. Best and most dependable vehicle I’ve ever owned. Truck still looks great interior and exterior. Mine has 5.4 triton. Has never had any major mechanical problems. Only thing done to truck in over 15 years was tires, one battery and religiously changing oil every 3K miles ( all normal maintenance). The only non-maintenance item I’ve had problems with over 15 years are brake low pressure sensors. I’ve replaced them and idiot light is on again. Other than poor low tire pressure sensors…. Zero problems. Keep oil changed every 3000 miles and this year 5.4 is a great and reliable engine.
How has the x3 been now after 3 years. I’m looking at same exact car with 20k miles and wanted to know as i have never owned BMW and didn’t know reliability with the B58 platform- thanks
So far, everything has been 100% flawless. The car is currently only at around 70k miles, but it’s been put through it’s paces. It seems like the key to longevity of these is to keep the oil fresh. The main issues with the B58’s are going to be oil leaks from valve cover gasket and oil filter housing. Those usually happen after 100k miles. I can’t say much about the diffs or driveshaft stuff, but drivetrain-wise, these are very solid cars, and I’m not aware of any common issues with the ZF tranny. No codes or sensor malfunction yet, either. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy a used X3 of this generation, as long as it’s been cared for and it has the straight 6. I stand by everything I said in this video.
@@NotSoHandyCarGuy ok the vin shows no issues with accidents or anything and only has 21K miles. 1 owner. So outside of oil changes no other major problems or concerns besides brakes and tires which is normal. No check engine lights or anything to be aware of ?
Don't forget 08'-10 K24 had the low friction pistons rings Honda was trying out , which could lead to the oil rings becoming stuck and consuming more oil.
My 2008 Pilot has 180,000 miles on it and it’s the best vehicle I’ve ever owned. I’ll never part with it. Meticulously maintained. Most comfortable seats ever. It’s never broken down. Reliable driving cross-country 16 hours/day in sweltering August 2019, moving from NC to AZ. 🙏🏼
One thing to note with the V6, and an issue I’m currently suffering from. The 5speed auto gets a really annoying whine between 25-40 mph. Supposedly it’s not detrimental, just annoying.
I had that with the 4-cyl as well. But I think that’s actually a worn planetary gear in the transmission, due to low fluid at some point. At least that’s what it was with mine. It was leaking from my axle seal. I’d double check the tranny fluid level on yours
Sure! I think at that point most of the major issues have probably been addressed. It will most likely eventually need a carbon cleaning though. But I’d say go for it if it’s in good mechanical shape
hi bro i just bought this car and i have one issue with it maybe you can give me advice. I also have a 2.4 automatic transmission. When I come to a stop in "D" mode at a traffic light and keep my foot on the brake pedal, the engine RPM drops to 600 rpm/min, and the hood, side mirrors, and steering wheel start shaking. When I turn on the air conditioner or headlights, the engine RPM increases to 750, and the vibrations are almost gone. I have visited many different mechanics, and they have replaced the entire suspension, steering system, shock absorbers, and engine mounts, but it didn't help. Perhaps you know what the problem could be? I haven't changed the spark plugs, and sometimes the engine makes a strange sound while driving, like "tak-tak-tak," but the sounds disappear when I increase the speed.
Hey! Well, I can say it’s certainly not a suspension thing. You got screwed over by your mechanics first of all. It sounds more like a MAF sensor or throttle body issue. But before you go replacing those, check the hoses and lines and make sure everything’s connected, since it could be a vacuum leak. It’s also very easy to check/change spark plugs on those engines, so it’s worth a shot to replace those, since they’re cheap. How many miles on it? And have you been good about changing your oil on time?
And when I say issues with your throttle body, I mean it could be your IAC (idle air control) valve. I’m not sure if they’re on the throttle bodies on these, I can’t remember. But a clogged one of those will cause issues at idle
@@NotSoHandyCarGuy thanks for responding me, i bought the car around 5 months ago, yes i replaced oils filters too, the walkway now is around 190 000 miles
@@NotSoHandyCarGuy and also it has weird sound for the first 3sec when i start the engine everytime like in this video on min 8:10 is it possible that this shaking occurs because of vtc actuator? Im living in Saudi Arabia and many of workshops here is so bad they don’t know how to fix tge problem
I can’t say without actually seeing it in person. But obviously check to make sure your oil fill cap is on. And then I would clean down your engine, so that way you can hopefully see where the source is coming from
I got my 2008 Accord EX in 2016, had 129k miles on it. It has just a bit over 193k on it as of today. I've replaced the battery, tires, but nothing major has happened. Still runs great, though the vtc actuator needs to be replaced but apparently it's a known issue with this car. And my a/c no longer works but I only drive it to work and back so I've never bothered fixing it.
I have a 2008 model, got it with 56k kms on it, have driven it for 4 years, has failed to start once, due to a discharged battery (my fault), the main mechanical issue since, is the z stabilizer links which are making grunting sound on rough roads. Love this beaty, good on fuel, no other issue...just fun to drive.
