I had not read the other comments, and it felt so weird - almost magical - thinking what just happened to me Had one hour relax and nap with that music and woke up crying. Dreamed about my grandmother, and good memories with her. She's still alive but she used to cuddle me as a child, and even as a young adult. Then, she became too dirty, her fingernails are now always extremly dirty, her bed is, and she does not care, she doesn't want to clean her hands, and I cannot have naps with her anymore. That's so sad, because it was our best moments together, we used to chat a bit on her bed, and we fell asleep and I know she misses these moments too, but she doesn't see the dirt, and now it even smells impossible. She has people coming to help her shower, they should cut her nails short, but it's not even enough, they would have to stay all day long and always be after her :(
My all time favorite anime. Saw it as a kid and it took root in my heart. Ashitaka is a true hero, someone who could see beyond the conflict to the good in everyone and the potential for love to conquer hate. A desire to heal himself turned into a desire to heal everyone.

the Sixth Station is my favorite piece of music ever. when I first heard it as a child, it shocked something in me. I've thought of the meaning it holds countless times. I think this is one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written. It is a true reflection, it feels like all of life encapsulated in one small, subtle moment that seems infinite. The way the train continues forward, the world passing by, as we are motionless within the story, sitting but still moving on that train. It is a turning point, where you can see everything. The sound of it is such an indescribable journey. This song alone made me love this film much more than I already did. As a Ghibli fan and Joe Hisaishi fan, I really can't even begin to describe how much it moves me.
I’ve been humming this song to my 3 children every night since the first was born almost 8 years ago. It’s the only song I hum that puts them to sleep!
