A channel made mainly for showcasing my cars and their progress. The channel will eventually branch off to show racing videos locally in WI on the street and the track.
Guys - I think I've decided to let this one go.. they're pretty expensive in lesser shape on eBay.. if you're interested and are a subscriber to the channel.. I'm thinking $400 shipped. Reach out if you're interested!
At least the shift is on the correct (left) side. I rode a Harley Rapido when I was a hid and it was tough getting used to the shift being on the other side.
I really do appreciate the time and effort you put into these videos. You may not get a million views, but some people really enjoy them. That silver metallic really shines now. Its much easier to clean a lighter color car than a darker color. I assume you, or someone, pulled out the door staples to prevent the cracks?
I appreciate that you appreciate it! I'm working on some more, back still isn't 100% yet, but we're getting there. I pulled the driver's side door staples. I have a video in the works for upgrading to Kee audio speakers and I'll be doing the passenger side at that time as well. One of my sail panel woofers unfortunately decided that 24 years was enough. Lol
@@RamblinGarage sounds good. The door panels on my 2002 were perfect up until last year when the driver's side got the 1/4 inch crack. I thought I had gotten lucky, but I finally pulled the staples last fall. I'm looking forward to the next video. Hopefully you didn't strain your back cleaning the TA.
Ah man.. were you able to get the crack to close at least? I didn't hurt my back cleaning haha thankfully.. I had a golf outing last week, then the next day played basketball even though I was stiff, I ended up tweaking it while playing. I tried to golf again yesterday and no bueno today.. lol guess I'll have to wait some more! I have a GTA video planned for Friday, but I need to wrap a couple more things up before I can finish editing and get it published..
I don't think they do, but if you were able to find a used set of power running boards you might be able to make the brackets work in your favor with these boards.
I'm just running initial around 8 or 10 degrees right now, vacuum is plugged in this video. I need to ret-time, adjust idle and mixtures and get the advance plugged back in. This project has been sidelined for the time being though.
I hope you feel better. I took a round trip to Toluca Mex from west palm beach Florida in my White 1985 Pontiac Firebird standard transmission. 1989. Run strong .
I love it! I thought my 17,000 2002 Formula was clean underneath, but I think you have me beat. I replaced my tires after 14 years. They looked brand new and had less than 9k miles on them, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Thanks for sharing!
2 things- 1 - your tires are too old, regardless of how much tread you have, replace them, my car is also a 2000 Trans Am, when driving the car liked to wander going down the road, even though the steering wheel was straight, was also getting noise from rear end, kind of a wah-wah-wah-wah, that got faster with speed. Bought new wheels and tires last year, got them installed, car now tracks straight and no more noise from rear end, I looked at the date on the tires - 2914 - 29th week of 2014!! My tires also have great tread as its been driven 32k miles. But after so many years, the rubber tends to break down. 2 - when you do a rear diff service, make sure you can remove the fill plug on the front of the rear end housing. Hate to get rid of all the fluid, button everything back up and the plug is so rusted you can't get it loose.
That's why I pointed out the tires haha I think it's time for some Continentals this time around.. shame BFG doesn't make these tires anymore, they're fantastic. As for the diff fluid.. that's a good thought, I wasn't too worried in my lower mileage cars.. but I need to do my 66 Rambler and my 74 Sierra next.. I will definitely keep that in mind, I agree, that would be an absolute pain to run into. I can think of a couple of work arounds, but not ones that I would prefer to have to do. lol
@@RamblinGarage true, but why would Car and Driver waste advertising money on a joke? You could possibly give your thoughts in your vlog if you need ideas.
There's companies that rebuild them, I think I had to use Kennedy American all of those years ago. There might be rebuild kits online, usually it's just the diaphragm that craps out.
You'll like it! You'll like the added noise from any of these intakes. Make sure you look into the extra piece needed to make sure the lid holds onto the radiator. Don't want that radiator falling into your cooling fan.
Those reverse lights are amazing! I have LED fog light bulbs in all my fourth gen Firebirds, but now I need to get the reverse bulbs. I didn't realize the difference in replacing tail light bulbs between 3rd and 4th gens. No tools needed for the fourth gen, as you know. And I saw your post on LS1tech and the silver TA looks great also.
@@RamblinGarage my daily driver is a 1998 red v6 Firebird, including the winter in Ohio. I have a heavily modified light pewter metallic 1999 TA that is my primary show car. I am the original owner of a 2002 black Formula with 17,000 miles. My last bird is a 2001 also black Formula that is a minor work in progress, but she is still driven several days a week. As you can see, I am a true Firebird fanatic, and I watch all the videos I can.
@@michaelm3381 that sounds like a good time, that and Firebird fest! I've been meaning to, but the fact of the matter is, I'm just too big to sit comfortably in these cars for that long of a drive. I'm looking to get a trailer so I can go more to these events that are further away.
Did you have to remove the starter? Or how did you put the header in on the passenger side? I have a 74 k10 and the header keeps getting caught on the starter and I don’t know if I should take it off
I didn't have to remove anything, I dropped it from the top. That being said, being 4x4, your trans may be a little different impacting the starter location. I'm not certain.
Had a 1985.5. T/A. Pure refrigerator white including the basket rims (super custom paintjob..) I had ALOT of fun in that car. I had alot of fun in other cars, but in that one, i had alot of fun...
I just recorded 2 trans am videos this past week and I'll be finish an additional tonight and starting another.. have a few things coming that you may enjoy! 😀
@@Jaycal559 I wouldn't be surprised if I had a low cylinder.. I also have one that has the spark plug hole half-ass re-threaded.. so I could be losing compression there.
Hey mitch. 3 years later and I was desperate for a gauge... an online six flopped over on the floor and It destroyed the gauge and release mechanism so I ran out to HF. Your video spared me the expense of buying this set as those brass fittings are too short and too fat to fit in many AMC in line six engines: nogo for 196 199 232 258 and 4.0. Instead I bought the 4 piece set # 62622 where the hose screws into the head which worked for AMC 6's. After testing a 196 and noting results, I removed the gauge from the gauge block and installed a quality liquid filled 1/8" npt gauge in the HF gauge block and reran my tests. The HF gauge has 10 psi graduations where the marshall Gauge I installed in the HF gauge block was done in 5 psi graduations and with 300 degrees of sweep, it was easier to read and hf was consistantly lower by 5 psi. Because of the screw in hose and sparse graduations I returned the set and plan on buying another Lisle. Your video saved me a trip. THANKS!
@@RamblinGarage second gen vipers are my favorite ones actually so I see the appeal haha, I have a red notchback gta myself, and I’m selling my daily a Colorado to look for a last gen gto or a 02 ws6 lol.
