Wonderful, I used to see Boys at The Charles, I never thought there would be a cover 😁 also saw Paul singing the album with the rest of the band in Freo, what a night!❤
So very cool to see how the people of my beautiful state, Western Australia used to look. My parents were born and raised here as was I and my children. I'm not saying I'm proud of all our heritage, but seeing how hard people lived and how much happiness they found in the simple gifts of nature brings me back to reality and a yearning to return to that way of life without today's technological distractions. I feel like the entire world could do with a reminder of what's truly important in life. There's so much ugliness out there. Be kind to you and all, spread love and help create a better world x
A great look back at our history enjoyed it a lot , the world has changed a lot since then not all for the better unfortunately. Rip to all those no longer with us .
Congratulations to all nominees and winners but also to anyone involved in putting these awards together. Thank you also, for enabling on-line viewing. Well done, writers and readers of Western Australia.
Three comments!! Very disappointing you so called fans of Aussie rock n roll!! This man is an absolute legend and his contribution to the music scene is immeasurable!! So cool still!! 60’s Aussie rock is awesome
I worked with Sam for three years in the Kimberley with the Department of Commerce and Trade in Kununurra and Broome What a bushman had some legendary trips throughout the Kimberley exploring with Sam great memories Sam and his legendary Toyota Troopy the Department just let him go we all new then he was pretty special Loved his country both the desert and the coastal areas especially north off the Gibb river road
Proud to say I've known Sammy and Rosita my whole life I grew up hearing his stories and living 2 houses down absolutely the most knowledgeable and humble Kimberley person you'll ever meet.
So amazing to see. People just standing on the tracks running in front of the train to get on the platform and no one batters an eye. Seeing all the Aussie cars parked up just surreal.
The Pilbara Aborigines in the 70s when I worked up there in Port Hedland at the 2 mile camp shanty shit hole no running water No power the Toilets and Showers didn’t work then out of town 12 mile the same deal another shit hole the elders lived here cooked on open fire No power or running water. The bureaucrats no where to be seen they should of been out there checking up on the old people No lighting they would walk round using a torch. No it wasn’t the place for the high paid govt worker living well in there govt house in South Hedland. Now 2023 the bastards crawl out trying to make amends
34:22 - VH-UKM Was a DH.60G Gipsy Moth owned by LSJ Smith of Guildford. The aircraft was registered on the 6th of April 1929. It crashed at Leonora on the 17th of July 1931.
A nicely done snippet of history. Getting rid of trams was "progress" back then; now light rail has made a comeback in many cities after we discover the problems of too many automobiles. Perth still had trolley buses when we lived there in 1969 but they were scuttled shortly after that.
Very interesting to see visual evidence of the colorful rock feature that gave the place its name. A nicely done capsule history. I reckon the last scene was the railway station.
