I have the same motorized model. The smaller wire is not worth my time to strip so it goes into different 102L bins. Smaller wire could also be put into a granulator if you have enough. Also, for difficult wire try flippping it over and putting a cut on both sides of the casing.
Saving mine for a vacation to AK or Japan and Korea maybe all three . When you take it in argue the price . The yard I go to will pay more the more you have .It don't hurt to ask
having a granulator for me changes the game. dramatically. plus a customer base of apptoxamitly7200 people or homes is a game changer and owning the rights to the waste to 3983 homes in a community changes the game as well all metal wire etc
10,000 lbs in 2 years wow that would be amazing cashin forsure I don't even get that in 2 yrs with all the copper I get ....good luck on ur goal my friend this seems like a interesting idea hmm maybe we all should set some goals
Yeah, 10,000 for number two for me is probably going to be near impossible considering I do this part-time and even if I went balls to the wall, I highly doubt I would get that much. But you have a chance to get that and more. I think setting goals is something that people can get behind and gives people another reason to support you in your channel. They know what direction you’re going and they know what you want. I may revise my goal to 2000 because I feel that that would be a more reasonable goal for me. Lol, even though it will pay for the truck. Lol.
@gilskillz and @bigcountryscrapper6885 10,000 lbs in 2 years or even a year is not a hard goal and can be reached. It all depends on how you market yourself to get your name out to the public
I really enjoyed this video, well done 😊. I just wish I could of seen you, I had looked so forward to meeting you finally! Looking forward to when it does work in the near future😊 😊😊😊
You’re telling me. It would’ve cost him a good four $500 in labor to have this done. But if he tells me in a week or two that he wants to go back to the way it was he’s on his own. Lol.
Pro tips - 1) best to use 1’-2’ lengths for testing, so u dont use up all your wire on testing, which wont give an accurate reading of how it’ll come out, if you’ve already ran it through once. 2) best to run all same size wires together, then move on to next size. Adjusting will need to happen anyways. 3) the smallest sizes i’ve found to be worth my time stripping, is 14awg solid and 10-12awg stranded. Anything smaller goes in as insulated #2. 4) There will be a tradeoff for keeping wires long vs short. With long, you have less individual wires to run through, so less picking up, running through, and separating, but harder to keep itself from tangling up with other wires ran through, and tangling up on itself when separating. With short, u can pick one up and strip the whole length in one pull, depending on how short relative to your arm span from fingertips to fingertips. Way easier to keep from becoming a birds nest. Do all of a stage at once, then move to next stage. For example, stage one would be gathering all same size wires and putting in one pile, repeat. Stage two would be running all wire through machine. Stage 3 would be to separate all wire from insulation. Stage 4 might be how you plan to orient it so it’s easy to transport and to load up at home and unload at scrapyard, making it the most efficient for them to take.
