When I typed "hadoop" in the command prompt everything looked the same as yours except for one line at the top that says "The system cannot find the path specified." I also noticed that in my Hadoop folder there is no folder called sbin(which I think is causing the problem). Any ideas on how to fix this error?
C:\Windows\System32>cd \ C:\>cd hadoop C:\hadoop>cd sbin C:\hadoop\sbin>start-dfs.cmd C:\hadoop\sbin>jps 18980 NameNode 4380 Jps C:\hadoop\sbin>start-yarn.cmd starting yarn daemons C:\hadoop\sbin>jps 17856 Jps 8516 ResourceManager 16024 NodeManager C:\hadoop\sbin> The above is what I get in the Command Prompt. It seems that my datanode is not running properly. Also, I cannot connect to any localhost as well. I have no idea what went wrong.
This is useful since explained in simple language and simple ways based on the approach that a message is effective only when conveyed in simple words. Using complex words does not work for everyone. Thanks

Hi. I also encountered this problem as well. I have managed to solve it. It turns out that when you put the directory into the text file, you need to save the changes. You can do this by closing the text file, a pop up window should appear asking if you want to save the changes or not, click save. Open a new command prompt and type hadoop. Things should work now.
'C:\Program' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Usage: hadoop [--config confdir] [--loglevel loglevel] COMMAND where COMMAND is one of: fs run a generic filesystem user client version print the version jar <jar> run a jar file note: please use "yarn jar" to launch YARN applications, not this command. checknative [-a|-h] check native hadoop and compression libraries availability distcp <srcurl> <desturl> copy file or directories recursively archive -archiveName NAME -p <parent path> <src>* <dest> create a hadoop archive classpath prints the class path needed to get the Hadoop jar and the required libraries credential interact with credential providers key manage keys via the KeyProvider daemonlog get/set the log level for each daemon or CLASSNAME run the class named CLASSNAME Most commands print help when invoked w/o parameters.
