you dont even need a wheel alignment unless your wheel/suspension hit something pretty hard. thats crazy they add that to every service. All theyre really doing is checking and refilling your fluids for maintenance. what a rip off. only saving grace is Teslas don't need brake pads so you're at least saving a couple hundred on that which makes up for some of these costs.
You have to look at the overall picture, not a couple of unverified YT anecdotes. JD Power surveys tens of thousands of car owners. In their 2024 Reliability Study, Tesla finished in last place, the most unreliable car available.
JD not exactly objective. Pay to play. There's little reliability data because Teslas don't break or need as much service as gas vehicle. Less moving parts/points of failure.
It's also stated that Tesla is not officially ranked amongst other brands in the study as they do not grant J.D. Power permission to survey its owners in states where authorization is required.
In the US, we are not told to go to a service center unless something isn't working right. I've owned my Tesla model 3 for 4 years and have never had it serviced, no wheel alignment or anything. I've needed certain things replaced (eg. Condensation in brake light panel, some sensor not plugged in all the way), windshield wiper fluid added, and air in tires added. That's it so far!
Damn they ripped you off. Why not replace the cabin air filter on your own? Also if you argue/complain with Tesla they will sometimes comply and cover the costs. I have received wheel alignment for free before. But i'm in California.
I'll change the air filter on my own moving forward! Unfortunately my situation is a lil different because I bought my Tesla off an auto dealer before Tesla officially entered the country - so the services I do are from 3rd party centers, but now I know!

Haha yes, I do love the touch and feel of things as I believe it plays a very big part in our subconscious perception of things. My concern for a flimsy-feeling door handle is, although it is "only once when you exit"... it also means it is EVERY TIME you exit. And the door handle is probably one of the most physically abused part of the car as it is a lever (which you pull and release) so it will take a beating and deteriorate overtime. It is one part of the car I feel should feel solid and assuring. Felt door pockets was in my 2012 VW Golf and honestly should be a standard - but I'm sure manufacturers try to cut corner to save a buck. Jailbreak customization is what 99% of common people wouldn't do, thus they are stuck with what I feel is a knock-off android screen. It was something I struggled with when I changed my screen in my previous car as well (see my other videos) and it's just disappointing to see it on the Seal.

IMO, it's all down to the drivers. Right away, you can see the Model Y's racing lines are so much better than the BMW's. One way to prove this is to switch cars and do the race again. I'm not sure the Y will win.

This makes ev really from environment conscious, quieter driving experience, instant torque, fun drive……etc… not meant for long racing mode (battery temperature is the limitation)
As i understand from ys khong, it is the battery temperature that is suppressing its further power. I guess it is similar to iphone battery being cut off from further charging when the battery temperature exceeds certain temperature setpoint
