02:09 "<everbearing> will set flowers at night when the temperature drops" I guess I'm about to find out but, soooo if I'm growing them in an apartment where the temperature never drops below 23c (73f), they don't flower?
Are you serious? How could you not know this? The vast majority of fruit sold in stores-around 99%-have been selectively bred by humans. Most of these fruits have been specifically chosen and cultivated through selective breeding.
It doesn’t occur in the black buckets with air pumps only the krakty white bucket. Algae can be food for plants but will also consume the oxygen and kill the plant. The pineapple is growing and doing great regardless. The only other place algae occurs is in the seedlings witch it dies when I transfer it to its bucket. It’s not present in any of my systems just that whit bucket
@@DitchTheFlock Ahh ok makes sense I had a 3 tier PVC with separate res and algae bloom killed everything. Also my first time encountering any problems. was looking for tips and found you. Btw your strawberry's always look amazing.
Hydroguard can help with algae a little bit but it can be a pain to get rid of and can choke plants out. Pineapples are insanely tough plants to kill some are gonna have harder time with the algae than others. Algae doesn’t like darkness or movement, so the air bubbles and black buckets help stop light getting in and moves the water around. Best of luck algae can be a tough have a great day :D
I had no idea that you could hydroponically grow trees….. can you grow a hydro blueberry or apple ? Is that a hydro pineapple ? It’s gorgeous; How did you do that, grow it in or outside and what nutrients did you add to it, being an acidic plant ?
You’re very knowledgeable for your age ! I learned more in one video and you explain necessary details especially the seed process: My plants have been attacked by fruit flies; they’re laying eggs like Aphids and they’re attracted to water…… they go crazy for the seeds in water and I’ve tried…. everything…. to kill them but one always makes it in the door and then it’s 50;
Nah, the people not understanding how you can't just buy a house/what self-employed means are the ones obviously relying on the bank of mommy and daddy.
I had run into the same thing before. Switched to a company I used to work for so I could transfer to the town we wanted to move to. Good luck you two!
This video is part of a series where I do just that. This is just part 4 if I didn’t do that in this video is very common in most of my long form videos and grows that I do from start to finish like this series where I show and talk about everything I know and use in crazy detail. You should be able to see them on my channel page or in the playlist of growing strawberries from start to finish :D
@@DitchTheFlock I’ve been studying and watching/ rewatching your videos for the past 2 months. By definition I’m pretty you classify as an expert. I’d love to have more communication as I am in the process of starting a hydroponic farm business. I’m just seeking advice and knowledge on the subject
brussel sprouts are from the depths of hell anyway they taste good with gochujang but the plant's appearance is so fucked up it doesn't help that you grow it in a weird silver room its funny haha
I mean 20 bucks a month extra is definitely significant. My entire utilities bìll in my small flat is 110. So it's noticable. But the amount of food you get from it makes up for it. It's not a "is it too expensive" question. It's not an accusation to "defend" against. Its just a very relevant question about the mechanics of growing hydroponic food.
My total monthly expenses are like $8,000 a month on average, so $20 to me is not noticeable, I’m married it’s not just me and its a 4 bedroom 3 bathroom 2 story house. We have been living in the city for years. I didn’t realize people would think $20 is alot until I posted this. I answered the common question for people who wanna get into it or hate on it idc either way. I am also in a dessert climate matters and so does electricity cost, witch varys everywhere you go and we have some of the lowest at 14 cents a KW. I don’t grow to save money it’s my hobby, only the internet seems to care if it’s profitable or not to see they wanna get into it or hate on me. Most of time it’s gonna lose money and I track those sorts of things in my haverst vidoes. I will not be continuing this conversation and tbh I would prefer just to turn comments off soon on my channels sense i say what I wanna say in my vidoes in long and short form In crazyyyy detail, if people have nuance questions it’s all been answered my short form vidoes are only able to be 1 minutes there’s isn’t enough time to to say it all that’s why I post longer explanations in long form. have a good day :D
@@DitchTheFlock mate, genuinely, why are you so upset and defensive? The entire point I was making was it's NOT an attack. It's literally just a completely harmless neutral question about the mechanics of a hobby that IS relevant to a lot of people. If you like cycling and I ask you "Ey cool hobby, how much do you spend on that? Is it affordable?" then this is the equivalent of you yelling back at me to fuck off and throwing a rock at me... why? How is just... wanting to gather information about the cost of a hobby a personal attack against you? Maybe just relax a little bit mate. Take a deep breath.
No pebbles go down the drain I have been doing this for 5 years let’s not act like I’m dumb I’m 25 and married I’m not an idiot :) also in that video I say my videos can only be one minute long in short form and I show a lot more in long form. You really need me to obviously state that I pick the pebbles out of the water befor I drain the water otherwise, clearly otherwise people like you assume I let them go down the drain. You know I can’t say everything in every 1 minute video you have to use your brain and assume a little bit that I’m not an complete idiot
It’s good updates have been in short form sense we are moving out and are very busy long form content takes me a little longer to edit and make than short form but it’s going good lotss of berries but not the most profitable plant to grow indoors
Yes this should is a chandler June bearing cultivar that I keep flowering year round in the conditions that June bearings flower in witch is they set flowers from like 40f-78f everbearing do 2 times per season because of they set flowers at hotter temp ranges like 84f so they find more time and opportunity during spring and summer to flower more than June bearing witch are more sensitive. I do June bearing with this but I recommend ever-bearing because it will be cheaper to temp control if you do it indoors I hope that helps :D
You can help with brushing but they are self pollinating I don’t and they bear fruit year round in the constant environment I give them :D thank you for the question
hey ive been googling around for this info and its no where. What is the light cycles for: Seedling stage Vegetative stage Everything i could find was only giving me light cycles for flowering but I cannot for the life of me find any information on what the light cycle should be for seedling and vegetative stage.
From my continued research into the most basic information (which isnt available) on how to grow strawberries indoors step by step this is what I have pieced together. Seedling/vegetative: Light should be 12inches away and ON for 10hours. As the plant matures lower the light (to get closer to the plant) no more than 6inches away and gradually increase the light cycle. At 12 hours the strawberry will speed up in growth. 14-17 hours is the general amount of light you want during flowering for strawberries. I havent been able to find any information on what i should set my light to for each cycle. I will assume it should be at a low setting for seedling (like most plants) but it being raised higher than other plants at the start suggests to start at a high setting for my light. It would be super fantastic (and something never achieved on the internet yet) to have a step-by-step guide on how to grow strawberries indoors. All the videos, articles etc are just people blabbing on about niche things when it comes to strawberry growing and nothing general or straight forward.
Can you please share your video on starting seeds in rock wool. This is my 1st time requesting info and I am unsure how you would share it with me, do I need to give my email?
This link should work, I appreciate you, best of luck. You can ask any question here in the comments I hope this helps :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KDykefeSmjI.html
What would be the reason why the strawberry leaf have that look , reason i ask is because my leaf have turn to this dark crispy look but i farm outside
