The Imam stated in the interview that his father (The Honorable Elijah Muhammad) taught him that the religion of Islam represent freedom, justice and equality. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the standard by which we are all Muslims, not the religious leadership of Saudi Arabia.
The religion of Islam represents the Oneness of Allah. Tawheed, monotheism, Elijah Muhammad did not teach nor believe in Islam. He taught that Allah appear in the person of Fard Muhammad. That is not Islam.

What Imam Mohammad said is absolutely true. New discovery in science has disproved some religious claims that were considered once true. This does not disprove the validity of the Quran. The theory of evolution is a brilliant example and discovery of God's blessings. Islam supports the discovery evolution, read Quran 71 verses 13-14 as well as the Big Bang theory read Quran 21:30 and Quran 51:47. The Quran differ a little with Dawin discovery. All of these ideas are supported by the Quran.

Don't confuse heaven with paradise. It is not the same. In the Quran, wherever you find the word earth, you find heaven, heaven, and earth. We live in heaven. Imam Mohammad is right.
What is the difference between heaven and paradise? Both words are mentioned in the holy Quran but in different contexts . Many converts from christianity use the same translation of these words interchangeably when they become Muslim. Paradise and heaven are not the same in islam. Heaven can be anywhere in this physical realm, as Imam suggested, on earth, anywhere in the cosmos. Paradise, on the other hand, is an other worldly existence. Last, Imam Mohammad never mentioned the word hell in his talk. If you do not like imam Mohammad commentary, there are plenty of others. I do care for Salafi commentary on islam. There are Muslim who believe the Buddha may have been a prophet also based on what he was blessed with. Imam Muhammad never said he was a prophet, neither did Buddha, full stop. Dr. King like every human being was a sinner. Islam acknowledge that human beings are inherently imperfect and prone to making mistakes, read sura 53:32. The beauty of sinning or making mistakes lies in repentance-turning back to Allah after you committed the sin. Sinning serve as a reminder of our dependent on Allah. Dr. King committed the greatest sin of all which is shirk. Dr. King worshipped Jesus. Did he repent from that sin before he died? If Dr. King died worshipping Jesus it is not permissible to pray for him. Separate Hadith supporting this -This hadith is narrated by Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) who reported that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever introduces something into this religion of ours that is not part of it will have it rejected." This hadith serves as a warning against innovation (bid'ah) in Islam. It teaches us that anything that is not part of the authentic teachings of Islam, as conveyed through the Quran and the Sunnah (the teachings and practices of the Prophet Muhammad), is considered unacceptable and will not be accepted by Allah (God).
