Bro like your stach! :) She was a very young girl with a very old soul. She sang her pain and ya can hear it. Janis burned hot but sadly didn't burn long. RIP JJ Her inspiration was Bessie Smith, she also spent time in black churches in TX because she loved the gospel music. That got her named as a N lover among her classmates who bullied her without mercy.
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly 1966 is one of the GOATs of movies. You owe it to yourself to watch its entirety. Look I'm no boomer - I don't even like Westerns. After watching this movie, one of my most favourite movies got kicked off the podium
Texas Red had: “the notches on his pistol number one and nineteen more.” Meaning he had killed 20 men in his life of being an outlaw. So he wasn’t scared. “21 would be the Ranger with the big iron on his hip.”
Alan Parsons produced three Al Stewart albums (modern times, year of the cat and this one). A couple of years ago, these three albums were newly remastered withe added bonus tracks and live performances) and they sound great.
You should react to El Paso by Marty Robbins and/or Long Black Veil by Lefty Frizzell. Two more great western storytelling songs. Saginaw Michigan by Lefty Frizzell or The Cold Hard Facts of Life by Porter Wagoner are some fun story songs as well. And Fist City by Loretta Lynn is great!
Loved this! The song is actually about himself - he was in and out of juvie growing up, then got a 15-year sentence for burglary when he was 18. So he really did turn 21 in prison.
the part of the song you asked about what he said is 'I'll be looking for 8 when they pull that gate means he's hoping to ride the bull for the 8 seconds he needs to be in the running or to win. and Amarillo is a town in Texas. thank you for reacting to this song, it is one of my favorites by george strait. I did hit the like button but it would not change.
Don't try to figure out the lyrics. The Tropic of Sir Galahad was something they made up because it sounded good (and mysterious). It means nothing Lol . Fact
It's Billy Vera & the Beaters, which became famous when the tv sitcom Family Ties used this song in an episode about Alex P Keaton's love story with a young woman who was engaged to someone else, but they had fallen in love, and she was trying to go on and get married out of fear. In real life, these two actors, Michael J Fox and Tracy Pollan were really falling in love, and are happily married to this day with a beautiful family. She stayed by his side throughout his Parkinson's ordeal. You should watch those episodes! They are so good! And yes I agree with the low key church vibes. I remember clearly falling in love with this song, lyrics, supreme sax, and Billy Vera's vocals. They used it many times after that because it lit up America, it became their love theme in the show.
Five years after the original release, the studio version of "At This Moment" was included on several episodes of the NBC sitcom Family Ties during the 1985-86 season as the love song associated with Alex P. Keaton (played by Michael J. Fox) and his girlfriend Ellen Reed (played by Tracy Pollan, whom Fox eventually married in real life). Its exposure on Family Ties renewed interest in the song.[1] Reissue label Rhino Records purchased the track from the band's original record label, Alfa (the American subsidiary of which was by then inactive), and re-released it in its original version as Rhino 74403. The tune then began a revived chart run, eventually hitting number 1 on both the Billboard Hot 100[5] and Adult Contemporary charts in January 1987.[6] The song also hit the Billboard R&B Chart and the Billboard Hot Country Chart. As the song was starting to take off it came to the attention of Ron Carpentier President of RCI Music Promotion who was hired on the promotion of the song to radio and soon after the song hit the Billboard Hot Country Chart. It quickly sold over a million copies in the United States, becoming one of the last Gold-certified singles in the 45 rpm format. The song crossed over to the R&B and country formats, reaching number 42. "At This Moment" would be the last song for 13 years to appear on the country charts and reach number one on the pop charts.[7] In an interview with Rachael Ray in 2007, Michael J. Fox good-naturedly stated, "Tracy and I couldn't get on the dance floor anywhere in the world in the first ten years of our marriage without them playing 'What did you think...' "[8] At the 2011 TV Land Awards held in New York City, Billy Vera performed "At This Moment" with the Family Ties cast in attendance, including Fox and Pollan.
The inspiration for this song came when Roger Taylor heard his son utter the words "radio ca-ca" while listening to a bad song on the radio , Lady Gaga credits her stage name to this song. She stated that she "adored" Queen
Definitely more bangers in store w Three Dog Night! They were the first band to feature 3 lead vocalists in their lineup. Primarily known as a cover band, they made hits for many songwriters. "Joy to the World", "Black and White", "Easy to Be Hard", "Out in the Country", "Shambala" just to name a few songs you must check out.
