A dehumidifier doesn't clean the water and it just gets dumped. Yes they are the same type of system but this is designed for drinking. Its also a lot more powerful than a dehumidifier able to capture a lot more water.
@@gabecimoch2160 The filter cleans the water. which we can probably get ourselves. But I wonder if the coils are any different than a regular dehumidifier. They never talk about that. Interesting
It would need 3 tablespoons of honey powder with the appropriate amount of water to reconstitute. For example. If the recipe called for 1 cup of honey you'd use one cup of honey powder prepared with the amount of water on the instructions of the can. Hope that helps! Greetings from our "secret" retirement location on Luzon Island in the Philippines. Thank you PrepSOS for developing a recipe and producing a video of something that we can actually replicate here. Many items from North America are not available in the Phils and shipping cost would break the bank for many folks. You have inspired me to build a stovetop oven and begin some experiments in the dirty kitchen (outside kitchen where most food prep and cooking is accomplished.) It will be great to try out the wide verity of tropical dried fruits produced locally as part of the experimentation. Please do not use an oxygen absorber when storing these. It can allow botulism to grow becuase the bars are not competely "dry". A silica packet is fine. Thanks for the video

I made the mistake of buying one of these several years ago. Absolutely terrible product. Two deep cycle batteries and a cheap solar panel and mppt charge controller would be 100x better. This is based on real world experience with product.
Great recipe, I will definitely try out. One word of caution, if you set ANY glassware that is very hot, directly onto a very cold surface (like snow), you run the risk of that glass breaking with the dramatic change in temperature. This is a procedure used to crackle glass. I have lost corning ware lids from this.
Terri, thanks for the tip. Luckily ours didn't crack or crackle but we'll use the cooling rack in the future! So far we've only used strawberry JELLO but we'll have to try some additional flavors soon. My kids ask if they can have them for a snack but I have to remind them that they are for emergencies :)
@@prepsos Ok, i just finished making them. They just cooled down, I separated them, and am letting them finished cooling apart. However, the under side, on the wax paper, is still a little sticky, will this dry out? They are chewy like thick granola bars. Is this correct?
@@terristephens141 We made multiple batches and some batches we had to bake a little bit longer because they were a little sticky still. Chewy like granola bars is definitely how they're supposed to end up. Hope you like them and that they serve you well!
