If they were sealed bearings it just means grease was forced in past capacity and burst the seal. No big deal. Just makes it easier to tell when to stop pumping grease the next time. Pump until you see fresh grease weeping out bearing and wipe or wash off excess with spray nozzle from water hose.
I can see 2 small Spider Joints ( universal joint ‘s ) with both the plastic clam shell covers off … One of the joints is dry and looks normal when I rotate the steering wheel though it’s full sweep or range of motion both ways to each clockwise counterclockwise stopping points … I can feel the out-of-place free-play factor in the upper column section as in a notable but slight knocking of to Parts involved in the steering shaft … There are No Zerk Service fittings on either Spider Joint to be clear .. Thanks for your reply ..!

It’s not metabo. It’s metabo HPT. They don’t share any parts or engineering. Metabo is European made and metabo HPT is still the same Japanese parts and manufacturing. HPT literally stands for Hitachi Power Tools
Honestly, I don't get why people still haven't figured this out. It's been a well known fact that they're still Hitachi. Also, I think I like the A5 model more despite how lightweight this model is.
Looks great. I don’t know if it was just me but I had questions when I serviced mine. I see every hub out there with regular nuts but my 84 fj60 had stainless acorn nuts and I will say it was better in my opinion the studs were not rusted. Didn’t know if you wanted to look into that. Just an option.
Hello. Would forgetting the top rubber gasket produce a problem with the engine not coming up to correct temp/ running cold? Also i assume that the slots in the side are to bypass water until the thermostat opens. like the " Jiggle " valve on newer thermostats?
