Why migrant doctor mum? Anna is a doctor by profession; a mum of 3 that relocated from Kenya in search of 'greener pastures'. Starting life all over was not easy; new country, job, baby, schools for the kids with minimal social support. All this made it settling in harder.
“Since relocating my DMs were always full of questions ranging from licensing, registrations, exams, travel preparation etc. Although I was always keen to help, I discovered it was time consuming as I was doing it one on one. That's when the idea of a channel was born. A platform where I would provide information that could be assessed by anyone at a touch of a button. I will share my own experiences and that of others to show that one can make it in their new country. I will discuss issues that I wish I knew back then and tips that one can use to make life easier and less expensive for themselves and their families”

Hello ! It’s better the chances of job after amc-1 if you have one year more clinical experience of home country after internship. Doctor my question is : how we will show our one year clinical experience to the Australian healthcare system? Will they contact to the hospital where i worked..?
Hello.I have a question maybe it’s not relevant to the video..My girlfriend she is from Russia and once I have reached to Australia as a junior doctor and after I work there for two or three months can I invite her and once she also has reached to Australia…Can she work in Australia?
Beautiful place Trust me one day I'll come and work there as an IMG Still doing my internship in Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬 Hope to come and meet you in Person too
Resort is open to the public, so guests can just book in for a stay, while a club is only by membership, you have to be a member to attend. Hope that helps
Hi Dr Anna I was preparing for my USMLE but I am not interested because the step one is crazy, so I am taking my amc 1 can u tell me what it looks like and secondly after maybe by God’s grace I pass both amc1 and WBA, how do I apply for residency training in vascular surgery?? Thank you and please respond ma
Even with amc 1 you have to prepare well to ensure you pass. You will then need to do amc 2 or WBA to get General reg. After your GR then you can attempt to gain entrance into vascular training. All the surgical rotations are quite competitive.
Hi Anna, thanks for sharing, the video was informative. Could you please shed more light on GP with special interests? I keep encountering GP anaesthetists, OBGYs etc. especially on the training and scope of work seeng that we have consultant anaesthesiologists OBGYs etc
@@billlagatt1816 yes happy to expound further via a video. But in summary once you become a gp you can work as a gp with special interest in something or do a diploma to enable you work as a gpo or Anesthetist
Yes this can be frustrating. Although most hospitals can sponsor you on a work visa. The decision for acceptance or refusal of visa is on the dept of home affairs
@@D-thewomen No you do not. Once you enter a residency programme you are paid a wage as a registrar. You however pay for exam fees or some college essential workshops as per your programme. All this payments are tax deductible

Dr Anna, amazing advice! How much should you budget if you planning to have an observer ship. Also I’m doing my second year internship from Ghana, I’ve decided to take on AMC in a few years to come when I’m financially equipped. I’ll be glad to get any advice. Thank you
