Combining my passion for cars (anything with an engine really) with my knowledge as a mechanic to create memories. Here I can document and share them, but my goal is to be able to look back on these times later in life.
Man living the dream, insane blacked out turbo clubby, blacked out raptor on an insane looking property in Victoria. Just came upon this vid in my recommendation so I don't know who you are but is that like your mechanic shop at your property like your own business from home, if so that's incredible ?
Hi, for roll racing acceleration would I get faster acceleration if tyre pressure is low because it will result in smaller rolling circumference? I don't care much for traction because my car isn't high powered
Hey mate great build awesome car any chance you can tell me what shifter you are using? Mines also manual and wanting the same shifter as yours please 🙏 cheers mate
@jimmyphilip_ do you get alot of vapour smoke from your catch can on idle? I'm running e85 on turbo lsa and experiencing what I think is a lot of vapour smoke from catch can once up to running temp mainly.
What’s been done to the motor? It would depend on how much vapour it’s producing? If it is a very small amount at hot idle/hot operating temps I wouldn’t be too concerned That being said, this engine barely makes any (if none)
@jimmyphilip_ cam, and top end built. It's alot of vapour could it possibly be over fueling or somthing like that ? When I take the oil cap off there's no blow by pressure
From what I’ve seen FGs have much bigger wheel arches, but I should be able to run a 255 with no dramas My understanding is 275 doesn’t fit that great but I’ll be able to test it for myself soon enough
@@jimmyphilip_ um not sure if the fg have a bigger wheel arch i know i had mine pumped out to the max and had the centre machined 6mm When i had 275/60s no problem didnt machine didnt pump the gaurds
@@jimmyphilip_Also loved vid & content lad 👌💪😎. I’m Melbourne native car dude too, I’m gradually building my Nissan R34 Gtr (at 700whp atm). Once I complete my block(2.8 Stroker kit) am planning similar path to you, having first crack at Calder (drag preferably but Roll Racing too possibly). Was it nerve racking bro?? PS. I have little RU-vid channel too 😂
@@PHATT_TVthank you mate! Sounds like a great build mate, hope it’s all going well for you! It was more overwhelming rather than nerve racking and because it was so busy there wasn’t much time to think about much haha Definitely a good way to test the waters though and have a go
@@jimmyphilip_ Thanks 🙏 brother, really appreciate advice & your experience. I’ll be at Calder this Saturday with few mates(I’ll be in my 34 Gtr with PHATT plates if u are around come say hi lad). 😎
I’ve got a twin plate ceramic from NPC in qld mate! It’s very aggressive and not good for street or daily driving but it will take all the abuse you throw at it. They have heaps of options, I would give them a call or sus their website!
100% he did! I forgot to ask the guy about his setup but I’m sure it would have had something good parts on it because he really took off from the start.
@@jimmyphilip_ the clubby ofcource thats what was in the vid and it was the first vid i seen on your channel tbh... i love the content btw and i love the turbo LS what you've done there is a work of art bro, but being a manual turbo LS 800kw it's abit hard to get good times at the tracks... that's why im saying my 400kw fg barra with the zf gearbox would beat the clubby even tho you got 400kw more... sometimes huge power doesn't always correlate to fast 0-100 and 1/4 runs.
Haha I was stiring you up bro Thanks for the kind words! I’ve put a heap of effort into it. You are right though, if you can put the power down faster and more consistent then it should translate in to faster times or speed! That being said, do some 3rd and 4th gear pulls on private roads (or in Mexico) and the difference really shows. The clubby is useless off the line at the moment haha. But then again I haven’t had any practice in it.
@@jimmyphilip_ no worries man and yeah your 100% right your 100km-200km would be faster then your 0-100 for sure... I wouldn’t bother practising drag racing from launch, I’d just practice roll racing starting at 30-40km in 2nd your beast would still munch a lot of fast cars in roll racing if you get it right... it’s super clean for a 20 year old car btw 👌you done a paint job yeah?
Love the clean workshop and the editing is on point. Got the same looking vehicle, Colour and everything. only got an SS though. Owned since 09. Looking to do the same motoe work. Possibly Supercharged. 👍Love the plates mate
@@jimmyphilip_ Was probably 4th in line at the start of the night and still only got 5 runs. Way to busy, will make the trip out to Heathcote next time, By the time I started figuring out how to launch I only managed 2 more runs, spun on one of them and missed my 2nd to 3rd shift on the other so best run ended up being just stomping on it without letting it build boost.
@@CAIDMASTEROFPYRO yeah fair enough mate! Was very busy to be able to take time to improve on what you really needed! I’ll be doing the same soon enough and head to heathcote so I can actually get some solid practise in
Off boost it’s very driveable. If you are considerate with how much throttle you do on some light pulls it will behave fairly well. But then when required, it is extremely aggressive. Its only scary if you put yourself in scary situations 🤷🏼♂️
