I was lucky enough to marry my best friend (Joel) at 19 years old and since then we have grown our family! At 21 our first born joined the party. Then a few years later we became a family of 4! I am a frugal, home educating mama with a passion to grow an abundance of food in our small English garden, while teaching my boys the importance of taking care of our earth!
I am a very frugal person with the goal to pay off our mortgage before we are 40 (in 2034) and live a life of financial freedom on just one income ( and not a big income at that). I am excited to be able to rant about all the things I am passionate about while maybe being able to help you wherever you are in this journey called life!
Honestly it's ridiculous that prices have gone up so much. I mean, two years ago, a lot of the things reponsible for inflation - Covid, Brexit, the war in Ukraine, the energy shortages - had already happened and people were ALREADY shocked by how expensive everything had got. So it's really depressing that prices have just kept rising, and it hasn't got better since. I'd have hoped at some point costs would have stopped going up so much, but I guess greedflation is a thing too (and I guess other things have happened in the world since that have impacted the economy)
What an interesting video, yeah its crazy with prices I thought u were going to say closer to 30 to be honest. Still can do a lot of meals with that for a good price. It definitely feels challenge to keep my bills low and not feel like my children can't eat what they want. Thank you for sharing look forward to ur vlogs/videos (lol that makes me sound old what do we call them ha). 😂
The increase does not surprise me; I thought it would be more to be honest! I remember literally swearing at the butter price increases as they seemed to go up every other week at one point lol.
Great video couldn't believe the onions get through loads of them !!!! I noticed the mushrooms have not so many in them having to buy more packs a lot of other veg not the same weight in them x
Thankyou for this Amelia. It is frightening when you look at percentages. But channels, like yours, really help for ideas when looking for healthy frugal recipes etc. Bless you for gifting your shop. Have a good week
No hate at all but i was surprised you dont make your own mayo garlic mayo dip and hummus taste soooo much nicer . Olive gold is so expensive isnt it px
Lovely video thankyou ,soup my goto this time of year got to have nice bread ( yours looks amazing) I'm beginning to think I'm the only human that hates cheese vegan or none vegan !!!! x🤣
Hey lovely lady.. Been a while. Lovely to see you and congratulations to your new addition to your family.. I still do my grocery challenges every six months.. 😊
I completely agree with getting better quality food if you can afford it. Cooking and baking from scratch instead of preprepared foods/takeaways cancel each other out.
Really interesting. We also try to buy a few organic products where we can afford them. The Tesco flour is the best value we found. I always get organic oats & try to find tomatoes & potatoes too as these foods are highly sprayed with pesticides. Once you start looking into it, it’s scary what happens to our foods
Lovely to see you do appreciate you taking time to do videos. Things happen in life that change our priorities l feel the little tweaks in diet can make a difference lm lucky do have wriggle room in finances im not the best with baking but have to have good bread ( can't stand it when they have loads of ingredients ) which i pay a lot for .i buy organic oats (Aldi great price ) do buy certain organic veg . My budget had to go up but never have takeaways probably go out for lunches a few times a year so happy at that x😊
Happy to see these back but understand the difficulties in trying to film them. We're a family of 5, 2 adults 3 kids 7,5,2 our budget i like to keep between 400 and 500 a month. I do get the chance to pick up yellow stickers on fruite and veg when I can to stretch my the money. Thanx again for sharing.
I second the move to organic... Did it a couple of years ago, and coupled with making most things from scratch, it's no more expensive. Plus the shelf life is generally better, meaning no waste. Re. Flour storage..... it's great, but beware of "flour mites" ... Unless the containers are tightly sealed, then the mites are a potential problem....vacuum sealers are great for avoiding any issues...cheap too. Yeah French's mustard is pretty clean...once you drop to supermarket own brand American mustard, you'll see potassium sorbate (worth a Google), amongst other nasties in the ingredients. All the best 👍
@@thelifeofjools8384 thank you and I'll definitely have a look look! 💛 Luckily we go through our flour pretty quickly so mites haven't been an issue in this house. We used to get them all the time in our old house for sure! 💛💛💛
Congratulations on the birth of your baby (even though this is an older video of yours). I had baby number 11 around the same time as you had your baby. ❤
Oh thats looks so good. I keep watching stuff on making my own wraps we go though a lot but i get nervous about making my own. Love when u share the food ur eating. Thank you
Great ideas here ! Thanks :) especially the ratios of ingredients for the wraps .... I'd love to see the refried beans recipe too, if you get a chance. All the best 👍
I am really hoping you bring back your monthly grocery hauls, with food prices as high as they are I have had no choice but to increase my budget. Have you? Has having another mouth to feed and a son with food sensitivity made a big difference?
💛 I don't think I'll be able to do the whole month like I did before but hoping to very soon get the odd weekly food shops up for you where I hope to explain how the food budget is going. But it's definitely tough and expensive out there! 💛
