it seems like the African American ,community can’t solve the problem that we face. Like early teen pregnancy. and our young, becoming criminals at such a young age. this setting them up for failer. disqualifying them from good paying jobs. ETC. these should be 2 things that we can solve. but another generation falls victim .

Very Interesting, your insight challenges me to dig deeper when looking at things that aren't particularly trying to send a message visible to the naked eye, but are definitely sending a message to the intectually conscious. The movie was loved by so many, yet you were able to look past some of the fluff and get down to the underlying message and share that here. I am looking forward to the next part. The fact that he has named his "school" Frederick Douglass/Marcus Garvey academy is bizarre to say the least. Douglass' and Garvey's worldview were diametrically opposite of one another. Frederick Douglass, who was the progeny of a mixed-race parents, married a white woman which Umar Johnson opposes.

Will done Louise Dente. More, more...I had a store on 7th Ave 132nd Street, around the corner from Black Rose in the 60s. I did African clothes while you wait. I always admired her craft of work. Kwame created my first brochure for my store. The store is represented in Kwame's book. The photos of my work are part of the Museum Tours. I have always represented Black is Beautiful within my style naturally. Kwame Brathwaite's legacy lives on. RIP Bob Gumbs. Thank you, Louise.
I like to ask all you historians do you believe in change, and what kind of change do you believe in. I myself thought change was a common thing, but when I see different behaviors pick what change they want out, and what they want to keep, which look like the ones we keep, keeps us behind time. That we now call a culture, or a lifestyle we look at as being cool. Is our personalities the reason we are not moving forward. I like to know because I hear a lot of things, but by speaking for others, is that the purpose why we are not able to see our own behavior we took on.
This Doctor, should be commended. Some, just tearing this King down! They don't give a crap that he is putting his life on the line. I pray that God, protects him, and keep him safe. I hope Dr. Umar, would ignore the closed minded fools, who don't expand their minds that far to see what the Doctor, is articulating. God, bless his ♥
