Hi, my name is Trish. I started making candles about 8-9 months ago and fell in love with it. I love how creative you can be with candles; and I've only just started. I am looking forward to exercising even more creativity and making some interesting candles that smell delicious. I decided to make videos because I ALWAYS want to talk about candles and my family is getting pretty annoyed with me. So I decided to make some videos where I can do my talking even it only my parents watch them. Thanks Mom and Dad, my biggest supporters! Thank you to anyone else who find and watch my videos, I hope you enjoy them and the creations I make as much as I love making them.
If you like any of the candle creations you see in any of my videos you ca find them at my website: www.downeastcandle.com.
The chemical used to adhere to sprinkles to the jar what affect does it have to the wax as it’s burning . Have you done some test turn before selling it. I’m so afraid it will mess up the performance of the wax with the hold throw and would it clog the wick
I'm new to making the scoopable waxes and I saw someone used refined coconut oil so since I could get it at the store I got some. But my question is do you know of any candle calculators because I've seen so many different formulars on here I'm hesitant to start. Product isn't cheap and I'm unsure being my first time. Would fractionated work better? I saw somewhere the formulator was 70% wax to 30% oil, but I've seen so many other variations. Thank you for sharing.
Hi. Thanks for watching the video. So I use DecoArt Paint from Americana. I have pretty much all of their metallic and I have never had an issue with clumping. Recently I tried a few paints from FolkArt Multi-Surface, both a metallic and a satin. Both of these clumped. I tried to spread them out a little more with a tooth pick. one I put them in the concrete, but they just seemed so thick they wouldn't spread out so I don' think I will use those again, unless I want a more "splotch" like appearance.
Good morning. I'm not sure what vessel you are using so I will tell you how I measure what I need when I am trying out vessels I haven't used before. I put the vessel on the scale and tare so you are starting at 0. Then I fill with water to the point I would want my wax to stop. That gives me the water weight. Since wax weighs less than water we multiply the weight measurement by .86 and that will let us know how much wax we need for the vessel. Example. Water Weight 10.5oz x .86oz = 9.03 oz So you would need 9.03oz of wax for the 1 container. Then just multiply that by the number of containers you want to fill. Hope that helps! Trish
You are 100% correct. It would be easier to use white cement rather than adding the titanium dioxide and making sure it's mixed in well. I just haven't found one that is reasonably priced and locally available - yet, but I'm still looking. Thanks for watching!😃
Thank you. I purchased the stamp from Etsy. I tried looking back to see which company, but it was so long ago that I can't find exactly which one, I'm sorry.
Thank you. I use C55 wax for this project. Initially I heated the was to 200 and then by the time I put in the scent, poured off the different containers to color l, it was down to 180.

Sure. For labeling on these vessels I use 3" x 1.5" clear labels from Avery. I found that these are the perfect size to fit at the top of the jar and they end before the curve of the jar starts so there is no bunching.
Sorry about that. That was a last minute decision to add some green that was suppose to be a leaf. What I did was color some wax a leaf green color, let it cool down to the point that it would set up pretty quickly once I piped it on. What I will do next time is use a silicone leaf mold to make some leaves and attached them with a little drop of melted wax.
@@marikiemarie7622 I tried paraffin wax so should I use fractionated coconut oil ? Oh soy wax is too hard ? I tried paraffin wax and I mixed with coconut oil it turned out still as a hard rock. Yes mines felt like it was a candle the first time I used to regular coconut oil
@@marikiemarie7622 I used the one in that jar that had to melt down into a liquid for the coconut oil with paraffin wax and the vegetable oil I tried a different time it was the one for cooking with soy wax
@Rogeana Star 🌟 💞 yea..so you can't use the coconut oil that starts off hard. The kind you need is in the massage oil or lotion section in stores. Hobby lobby carries it as well. It's much more expensive then vegetable oil so use vegetable oil . 2 cups oil. 1 cup wax.
