This person is the best. I passed my Grade 8 certification with a “distinction” by just “following” his gestures and practicing less. That helped me inculcate a belief that I “can” and I just nailed it.
ONE SMALL SUGGESTION......AT THE END.......TAKE A SMALL BREATH.....LIKE A SIGH.....BEFORE SVANI........DONT MAKE TOO MUCH ABOUT IT....BUT IT WILL BE ENOUGH TO MAKE THE MARK AND GIVE THAT EXTRA EXPRESSED EMOTION.......OF A BRIEF DREAM...SLIPPING AWAY!
In all its' simplicity it really touches a listener. And besides that Gary is able to compose things as "Benga Beat" one of my favorites. "Birds flew over the spire" is all about tones that fled into each other. I've added some extra chords that I liked. I will come up with that shortly.
Honestly, this song could have fitted one of the town themes for Pokémon Scarlet and violet to give a more chill atmosphere. Would have fit the Paldean region since it's based off Spain and Portugal.
I think this is wonderful and so unlike most classical guitar repertoire. I also notice the way he adjusts his right hand to get funky, nearer to the bridge with less of an arched position. I also love the singing, such a shock somehow to hear a classical player just singing. Magnificent!
I recently rediscovered this again after hearing it a decade ago. I listen to it often: I can't explain why but it makes me incredibly happy. Something about the rhythms and the seeming simplicity of the thing (although I'm sure it's anything but..) What a wonderful gift!
What? Seeming simplicity? Have you ever tried playing guitar? I am 30 now, played since my 8th bday. 0 chance I can do this

Haha! Well that’s what I meant. Masters make complicated things look simple. It’s very elegant, clean sounding and all just falls into place (seemingly effortlessly.) I stand by my comment 😜
With this composition, Gary Ryan's classical guitar gains an important expansion of its technical and compositional possibilities, preserving the classical form and the pleasant conduction of themes and harmonies, which also makes it accessible to the lay public. Congratulations for the genius of this work, and much more, for the perfection of its accomplishment.
I wish he played rainbow because I have the cassette but no cassette player. Rainbow was a song my grandma would sing in the car sometimes. It is one of my fondest memories of her. Maybe he will see this and play rainbow. Thanks Mr. Ryan for blessing us with your gift of sound.
I’ve been a life-long lover of classical music and am embarrassed to say that I only discovered this piece because of Resident Evil Village. Brava, Gillian! This brought tears to my eyes.
