Great video! I'm new to fishing and could really use some good deals so I can get a couple different set ups. Please share your techniques with me if you would! Also seems like you're not the only person having some issues with the Vanford.
certate 3000 2016 vs saragosa 2019 6000. certate is still in use no service, saraggosa needed new gear after spooling, 1st fish malfunction due to water incursion. certate 2019 vs stella sw14000xg. certate landed 29kg yellowtail king fish from the rocks, stella needed a new gear after spooling, stella sw5000 vs salitga 10000, nothing both are great, stella 5000 amazing reel. daiwa ld20 vs talica 20. talica landed fish but was full off water, salitiga ld20 used same day was dry and didnt need servicing (very strong reel) . sustain 4000FD vs sustain 5000xd. the FD never an issue appart from no way to get the handle knob replaced. xd needed new gear after spooling, and bail system didnt last 1 fish. i would buy old shimano i would not buy any shimano modern reels, the twin power are garbage, the baitcasters are garbage. the rods are great very great. torsa very strong great reels. have more shitmano then daiwa, i will never buy their overpriced garbage reels ever again (bantum is tempting)
stradic isnt a saltwater reel, xprotect, xsheild does not work, their a pain to service and you will need to make sure you have spare parts at hand when servicing (shimano service lose parts and constantly replace parts)
10yrs ahead off shimano and 100 times easier to service. servicing shimanos has always been a nightmare, and their durability is terrible always needing to buy parts for shimano reels
Looks like a scrounger head, with top area cut off... the cup near the weight on a scrounger head gives the same rolling motion, without the constant need to wiggle the rod tip... The soft lip looks like a very interesting twist on that idea. Part of water bottle caps can even be treaded on before tying on a ball jig with a Fish Arrow or Dr. Fish minnow body to give the same hunting/rolling effect.
That's neat but the new FA's are crazy expensive at around 250 euros. I just ordered a second stradic FM for just 130 euros (stupid sale). For my ultralight slash light setup the vanford would be better but idk. The Stradic just feels so buttery nice especially after a day of fishing.
You messed it up a bit buddy 😁... You started and most of the time you were holding and talking about Daiwa tatula, But when you came inside sitting on a sofa, you were holding Daiwa AIRD X while taliking as if it was tatula ? 😄😃😀 LoL
Sorry but I think you might be watching the wrong video. It’s the Tatula XT for sure. Could be the lighting that throw it off but it is 1000% the Tatula xt 😉
Im thinking of buying one to pair with a medium 1/8-3/8 NRX+ but my question being do you think it can handle the 1/4 and below lures well enough to buy it?
There is always negative people who sees the negative things only they will look back and forth back and forth just to find one negative thing. Doesn't matter if it's was a little mistake all it matters to them is to find the bad out the good and thats what keeps them happy
Great info! I actually think the Exsence breakes less, at least with compact baits 1/2- 1 1/2 oz and a longer 8'- 10' sea bass rod. This is what the reel was designed for as I understand and that would make the Antares a better allrounder for say largemouth bass fishing just not when casting the longest casts (for sea bass) from the shoreline.
dont come in bag or plastic because it not a high end reel and it likely has rush on the the main gear shaft from seeing a video of this reel being taken apart the shaft had rust spots on it and likely older parts been sitting to be put on this reel
@@ChewyThaoFishing yeah that's the thing with this type of so called new upgrade it's from older parts .. sitting for many years oxidation likely from not storing it well and moisture, I'm sure it will be fine will take decade for that rust to eat up the shaft, just keep it oiled up and clean when maintenance
I want to opt for this a scorpion dc 21 do you think if I went for the matanium I could use 30 bound braid and still have enough spool for all purpose ?
Ughhhh i cant stop buying fishing gear lmao. I wanna get a DC and figure if i get this i should be good for a while. Almos got the curado but i feel newer is best bet.
If you look at reel manufacturing today to 70 years ago the build quality is a thousand percent better but component quality has gone to crap. We consider aluminum a top quality gear material when back then it was for junk and brass or steel was the standard. Pressed steel was standard but brass was top of the line. They use zinc now to save on weight but really it's to save on cost. If they wanted to save on weight they could just use cast skeletonized brass or MIM skeletonized 316L stainless steel.
I have Tatula, but love my Airity WAY more, even more than any Stradic, 23 or 24 models. YES it's way more expensive. 😕 But it's impressive reel and VERY light.
I immediately take apart the Daiwa reels and put more reel grease around the gears. Have several reels from Japan Salamandura and Caldia. Never have maintenance problems after that. I own lots of fuego reels, after 2 years of use still going strong. I have replaced bearings in 2 reels, very cheap and easy swap work like new. I fish 3-4 days a week from a kayak, saltwater. Key, rinse reels, oil side bearings, bail and main post under spool.
Beautiful reel, ive wanted one for a long time. But I'm a trophy striper hunter. These reels have virtually no drag power at all .wats the max drag on the 200? 12 lbs? Not enuff. Great for bass and smallmouth but the fish I fish for would burn this up and spool it. 45 pound stripers make blistering 80, 150 yd runs under dams in fast River currents here in Tennessee where i fish for them. Im usually throwing 8 Oz 10 inch swimbaits, wouldn't work for my needs. Too bad there's not a beefed up version like a 400, with more line capy. And 35 lbs of drag.
Thanks for watching. This reel is only 100 size so definitely not strong enough for stripers. Would recommend a 400 MD for the stripers. Big enough and has enough line to fight those big stripers!
@@ChewyThaoFishingtoo bad, these are gorgeous reels a 300 size with more drag would be great. So I'm looking at a older conquest DC 250, with the gold highlights. Maybe I could get a custom drag washer upgrade to up the max drag. Take it to a tackle shop they would know. Anything is possible if money is no object
