Luka Modric's career feels like something straight out of an anime. In 2018, he played as if possessed by a demon, dominating the pitch with an intensity that seemed almost otherworldly. When he won the Ballon d'Or that year, many believed it marked the peak of his career-and that his decline was imminent. But Modric had other plans. Instead of fading, he defied all expectations. Season after season, he continues to earn standing ovations, even on away grounds. Fans applaud him, thinking, This must be his final bow-let's give him the send-off he deserves. Yet, here we are, 3-4 years later, and Modric is still out there, orchestrating the midfield with the same grace and grit. At this point, it wouldn't be surprising if he signed on for yet another year.
Modric was also almost the first player to run back always to cover the defensive transitions lest say if there’s a bad corners. Great point by Varun. And Modric did that always from 2013-18
No way Thiago is better off the ball and defensively than Modric. Varun needs to watch Modric again from 2013-18, Thiago ain’t close in defending and off the ball. Modric’s interceptions were of the charts.
To be honest I see Real Madrid destroying Bayern. Real are in such a great form now and got pretty much all the injured players back. Undefeated at home, the cl spirit will be high as hell. I don’t see Bayern winning at all. Sorry.
Dharnish was great! Loved the insight and non-biased POV he shared. Really impressed with his explanations of the tactical nuances and adjustments each team makes, as well as the holistic perspective.
