Johnny Gregory was prominent enough to have a Wikipedia article. I have no idea about the others, such as the flautist, but undoubtedly they too were some of the leading London studio musicians. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Gregory_(bandleader)

We recorded this in 1965. We were trying to move our music towards the CHAD & JEREMY sound from folk music.

So I just heard this a few days ago for the first time. I think he made me fall in love with Celia, and then that savage killed her.

Amazing that The Beatles got a soundalike version just a month or two after their first single, that's how popular they were.

In 1956 the 28-year old Brighton-based vocalist Johnny Webb was a guest singer with the BBC Showband. Columbia A&R chiefs Norrie Paramor & Ray Martin were driving through London when they heard him on their car radio. They sent Johnny a telegram asking him to "come and see us", and he subsequently signed a recording contract.

my parents saw the movie and bought the vinyl. I listened to it when I was maybe 8 years old and loved this song....still remember and can't believe it's the same band as "Blinded by the Light"!
