That clutch belt spring is a bear. I replaced my clutch with the trans in the mower. I had to compress the new spring in my vice, and put 3 zip ties in the coils to keep it short enough to where I could get that little screw to reach the threads and get it started. Then used dykes to clip the zip ties once it was back in place.
I have a 7 HP B & S on a Troy-Bilt tiller. The gas tank is on top, has bumper bars on the front and shroud comes off from the front. It is not obvious where any bolts are. Can you make any comment about how to replace this pull rope?
Thanks for the video. Was able to replace mine thanks to this video. I wasn’t removing the bracket. I kept the deck on which made it a little more difficult, but by engaging parking break, removing spring and bracket, I was able to put it on after taking bottom deck belt off. I have a kubota t1880. Here was my step by step with the deck on and on the drive way without any jacking or lift. (Also, I was able to attach the belt to the transmission fan by sitting behind the tractor after feeding it through; you get a real good view from the back). 1. Just dropped the deck to lowest setting, 2. set brake, 3. removed spring, 4. removed bracket, 5. unhooked the lower belt from lower pulley, 6. removed drive belt I was replacing from upper pulley at the front first and then from fan belt (got it sitting behind the tractor had a good few there) 7, replaced drive belt by hooking to upper pulley at the front first, 8. then the fan pulley at the back. (Make sure to keep the belt above the guide arm/rod by the fan pulley (on the right when looking from behind right after the fan pulley) I didn’t the first time and it hit the fan blades and fell off). 9. Put belt back on to lower pulley, 10. Put bracket back at the front, 11. Hook spring back up
I have a 1990 Yardman 1842. Previous owner had removed the flat idler drive pulley. I got a new one and put it on but I have zero tension. I am not certain what to do as I didn't remove it. This mower is nothing like mine. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.
The only time mine has ever failed to start is when it was submerged in a flood. I didn't realize it was under water and the gas in the carb just turned to sludge.
I have the same tiller. Luckily, the previous owner wrote down belt numbers inside the cover. The diagram is also inside the cover. I was looking for a video of the throttle/governor linkage/ spring assembly as the previous owner cobbled it up.
Thank you very much! You walked me through successfully fixing my tractor. The whole job was the cost of the belt. I appreciate your kindness in sharing your knowledge, Sir.
Big thanks for this video! Was nervous to do any work internally on an engine for the first time, but worked like a charm on my 2016 model and cranked right over! Video was super clear and straight forward, now just waiting that 24hr for the valve cover gasket seal to cure and can't wait to get mowing!
I just fixed on of these and the gas tank was seeping from the seams. Been trying to find a gas tank but even using the model number I haven’t found the right one. Where’d you get it from?
Cub Cadet pure JUNK !!! Especially if it comes with a Kohler Courage engine. This manufacturer should stop selling crap to the consumer. Don't buy any Cub Cadet lawn equipment !!!!
Thanks man only thing I did extra was hit the 3 Zirk grease fittings on the main spindles while I was in there other than that great work and thanks for sharing
Hey thanks for the vid, it's impossible to find anything on that bely for replacement. Is there any way to tension the belt so I don't have to take the whole damn thing apart? I've replaced every other belt but this one is a real pain in the ass.
That piece fell out , found this video after . Where does the jet go that fell out ? I don't see a place for it unless it was left in from the last guy
Hi, thanks for the info. Im looking for a replacement for a spark plug for a Yard Machine front tine tiller a-736-325. cant find a cross reference replacement. Any ideas? thanks, David
For a new belt installation, the belt looks loose on the drive pulley...something looks off...I can see why this setup would throw belts...my 180 it's a tough go to get a new belt on without a lot off muscle...this belt just slipped on...what am I missing??
I had the same exact mower as this, and i successfully followed every step and now have a running mower. I appreciate the step by step man, thank you. 🤘😎
