Nice….I have a 2014 Rt Limited. I saw your other video and I want to know what kind of sound system do you have? Also I’d like to know the underglow lights, and if it’s somewhere else that I can order cheaper than sling mods?
Hey there, sorry I missed this question! I took the seat on my Spyder to a local upholstery shop to have the “butt stop” moved back. It can safely be moved back a couple of inches. If you move it too far back you will run the risk of your bottom being uneven due to the slope of the seat pan. Another option, which is pretty expensive, Russel Day Long will adjust your seat to your dimensions by using pictures you send them. Hope this helps!
Hook up a battery direct wire not to pull too many amps on that stock wiring and risk blowing the circuit and it will be louder with more juice to the compressor. I'll make a vid showing the difference when i hook mine up.
Just installed with my nephew. USE 12G WIRE AND RELAY!!! NEED THOSE WIRES FOR THE CURRENT PULL!!!! REMOVE TANK ALSO. Open wire channel. We pull original horn wire back up, down the wire channel, just into battery area to plug directly into relay. USED 12G Wire, ran tight to frame into wire channel, into battery area, plugged into relay. Connect to battery. AS INSTRUCTED. No hot wire issues now. Big wire= more power. Long honk, multi honks.
I’ve watched other vids and don’t understand why people don’t do what you did? I’m no electrician so I don’t known pros and cons of using relay/not using relay….
I tried this way directly to the horn wires. Only get one honk. Then have to turn ignition off and back on to activate again. You need to use the relay and wires provided in the 2.0
Using the wrong guage stock wire without using an electrical relay might work, but you are risking problems. You're only getting 30% of what you should get sound wise. Great horn though.
Just wanted to say 'Hi' & pass comment on your spyder (in thread comments appear off) so here I am. Very sweet indeed sir, classy & manufacturer plus. Take care Big Man, wishing you health & happiness !!
I have a few questions about your speaker system you put on your spider. What rear speakers and what tweeters, and amp did you go with. I appreciate your videos you’ve given me a lot of good ideas. I’m like you. I gotta have my music !!
The HD stock horn has a relay. So my educated guess would be that they send a relay for vehicles that aren't equiped with one. However, if you want a definitive answer ask MotoHorn.
Guys if you hook it up like this, you might damage your ride. This horn should be wired with a relay and 12 AWG wiring, MotoHorn also now provides this kit with their 2.0 horn. It is literally 10x louder then too.
Please don’t hook up the wires like this. The current horn relay will NOT run the Motohorn to its full capability. The dedicated relay is easy to install and very necessary. Otherwise you might as well just use your stock horn. Also, the tip about the using the existing wires is exactly what the instructions on line say to do. Just follow the instructions dude. Thank you for sharing. Beautiful bike!
Hmmmm.......maybe for your year bike, but as I state in the video; 09-13 touring works just fine. Have it wired the exact same way on my 2010 Tri Glide as well. 4-5x louder than a stock horn.
@@ridingwithboots7305 Would be 10x louder if you didn't use the stock wires though. They now provide a relay 12 AWG wiring kit with the 2.0 version, there is a reason for it.
@@ridingwithboots7305 I see, harley plug and play. I have a different bike so both will look out of place a little. Was curious if its actually loud considering the compressor size.
The only problem I see was hooking it to the original horn wires is there either 16 or 18 gauge and they will get hot Could be an electrical problem it calls for 12 gauge But I love all the rest of what you've done let me know how that original setup works
Boots, How’s it going. I gotta question about your RT Limited. I have a 2019 with some of the aftermarket additions also, but I can’t get my music right for nothing, where did you find a good shop here in South Carolina, I live in Columbia SC, would love to add better sound to the rear of my bike, when you comment or respond I will show you my bike and some of the upgrades I did last August, again what custom shop you found here in South Carolina that did your sound, I would love to know.
Hey man....I have since sold that bike but happy to help! Would love to link up and ride some too! As for my music, all speakers were DS18 and the amp was a JL 6 channel. The work was done by Elite Audio in Spartanburg. Would be happy to make an intro. Really good people that do GREAT work.
@@ridingwithboots7305 zzz thanks I appreciate the response back, well as for me I live in North East Columbia, so anytime on the weekend sounds good to me to link up
Does it hit the mid-frame heat reflector at the back of the horn? I am installing tonight and thinking of either tilting it slightly before drilling the mounting hole or removing the mid-frame deflector on that side which DK Customs suggests anyway to increase airflow (one on the left side remains) fr heat reduction.
Great video as well as great soundtrack. Love what you did with the Drone footage. Cover bridges baffle me, with that very old technology and tools, but still standing strong after these many years. Gorgeous day for SpYdering. Thanks for the rYde along. StaY Alert. rYde Safe in a fun way. Thanks for sharing. Keep on SpYdering. 😎🇺🇸.
I am posting here because comments are turned off on your RT Modification post. Can you modify the post to add and link all of your accessories especially the radio system. I have a 2015 RTS. Thanks.
Awesome just amazing ty for this I need some ideas 💡 from ur last video on light for my spyder. As well as im trying to find a place to do adjustments in handle bar do know any major place in ur area im in Memphis
Thanks for the video!! I iust got one for my Roadstar today!! I didn't have any idea on how to hook it up until watching your video. I got ran over by a drunk driver 4 years ago I definitely wanted to get one
Just subscribed to your channel, Spyder rider also 2011RTS. I love it just wish I could get better fuel range on long trips. Looks like an awesome ride to upstate S.C.
Thanks my friend! Yes.....I have been doing a lot of research trying to figure out better fuel range. It's really disappointing. Coming off an HD Road glide and could get over 200 miles to a tank.
Yes indeed, I’ll get a 1330 Spyder next way better fuel range. But for right now I’m blessed, not many people are able to afford or ride like we do. Keep the videos coming.
Simply amazing greeting from Harrisburg Pennsylvania 🇺🇸 was looking forward to seeing your drone video of that covered Bridge 🌉 ,Most of the time people don’t get to see the beauty from above as we do using our drones 🚁 , Here’s a video of 1 Can Am Spyder groups I’m a member of riding through cover Lancaster Amish country Covered bridges 🌉 Hope you enjoy it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-adysDOM4PoU.html
