I just went to a AIM place for schooling and I’m still debating if I should do it or not. It will cost be 54,000 is it really worth it? I really do love working with my hands in learning hands on it’s just a lot of money. What do you guys think and what are your experiences.
That would make sense if it was just one spot. Why did the wing have like 7 patches that's just shitty af and all airports should have a mechanical hanger to repair planes
Is it NTSB approved? They are the ones who investigate the crashes. What percentages of plane crashes involve planes with this tape on them? What about without it?
aviation mechanic here. And more specific air frame. And yeah in the -10 or -11 (cant remember which) there is a duct tape repair. They call it 100mph tape which uses fiberglass strands instead of othe materials but its basically just duct tape and if we dont have 100mph tape we just use duct tape lol 😂😂😂
They have been using this tape since the 1940s. Its safe and not used for anything structural. It would be the equivalent of taping your tail light after someone backs into you so you can get home.
Respectfully, duct tape or not, the idea of being 30+ thousand feet in the air knowing parts of the plane are being remedied by ANY kind of “tape” is unsettling to say the least.
If i were rich enough to be happy i would buy myself a Sunderland, model it for my needs and buy myself a crew for the plane, mechanics, butlers, chefs, etc. Then i would travel the world and live in my boatplane. This is a very personal dream of mine.
