The instructions on my air filter say to lightly oil the foam outer sleave. Noticed you did not. Is this a necessary step? How will not doing it affect the performance of the filter?

I do miss rear eject mowers...they generally mow really well...

Never really payed much attention to the lower lines of cubs since I own a 20 year old GT2544 which is equivalent to the XT3. But I’m impressed just how nice these LTs and light duty GTs are made. Good attention to detail. Nothing like the XT3 or any of the older cubs but better than really anything else made today.

I purchased a new BCZ2600s in 2006 and it has took care of the weekly trimming of two 20ac school campuses plus my farm. I’ve run 100% non-ethanol gas with Sabre synthetic oil exclusively. It’s had 1 carb diaphragm and numerous trimmer heads but otherwise has needed nothing. My 7500 backpack blower has been 100% as well. I could go to my shop and pick up that old RedMax trimmer and I guarantee you that it would start cold on the second pull. Heads and shoulders better than the Stihl 4-Mess trimmer that it replaced.

What about the drive train?

When will Stihl finally get a BR900 or 1000 out?
