@@marc-anthonyrigg7212 No, that was 1886. Also a unit from Portmore, 1895 would later suffer the same fate over a year later while on the toll road. I'm am hearing rumours though, that work is being done to return that unit to service
@@marc-anthonyrigg7212 This unit has always been yellow as it arrived in 2011, 3 years after JUTC began ordering their buses in that colour, also there are actually _several_ white units that were repainted yellow, those are 2007 units and there are about 3-4 of the 10 remaining
@@transitshowcase2668 did you see the air vents over the passengers because the one that was repainted in yellow don't have them while the one that was always in a yellow color have them
Not at the time this video was taken actually, which was on the same day I took the 595X Downtown video last September. But yes I was puzzled to find that seemingly the entire fleet of Proterras was grounded late April
UPDATE ON THIS VEHICLE: It is currently in the process of being refurbished as pictures have been seen with the exterior and interior bodywork stripped down presumably for redoing. It is rumored that other 2007 articulated vehicles along with many of the 2013 ones, but this is currently the only one photographed undergoing the process. Meanwhile, most of the 2016 Golden Dragon XML6897J13 units are also being refurbished with a few already complete.
It's out of my hands right now unfortunately as my backlog ran out before I could record any more videos of them 🤷♂ Still in Florida... Description has been updated with an explanation
It's out of my hands right now unfortunately as my backlog ran out before I could record any more videos of them 🤷♂ So sorry Description has been updated with an explanation
Yeah there were quite a few routes I wanted to do (22, 35, 40 to 132nd+8th, 42) but didn't have time to do them all. Also the description and timestamps should be ready before tomorrow, a little busy now
Haven't been down there since last December, but it's likely they do although I'm not sure how much longer they're planning to hold on to them since they're approaching 20 years of age. Also you can only do the 301 as the 302 is entirely reserved for Ocean Reef Club members and staff (this was covered in my 38 video)
What's up, man! Wow, looks like that you made it that far using only public transit. Alternatively, you can use FlixBus or Greyhound for less waiting, but I would say this is the only cheap option to travel to the Keys. But if you want to continue your trip to Key West, then you would have to transfer at Marathon and take the Key West Transit Bus (Lower Keys Shuttle) to continue further to the Keys. I would say that this is not a good way to travel to the Keys because the bus schedule is really long and you possibly have to wait longer for the shuttle to Key West. So, Flix or any coach agency is the recommended option for people who don't want to wait that long! 🤔
The reason I think they don't pressure the 18 as much is because its basically a combination of the 17 and 20. Fun fact, the portion of the 18 that runs behind south west schemes greater Portmore (2,3,4,5 west) was originally part of route 14, which ran via that portion and east mid street. Route was discontinued in 2004-2005 i think.
I took the E a couple of times, was a bit convoluted, but you get it after a while. Nice that you got one of the 06s. I personally consider those and the 05s to be the best set of busses ever made, along with broward county's 05 nabis
Still kinda bitter I never got any of BCT's 500s... Even after getting a couple of the 2002 Gilligs such as 213, 220 and 222 Luckily I got one of MDT's 4100s on the 22 back in 2021 but I couldn't get a recording cause the pathetic phone I had was out of space
Yippee! You finally got to ride a bus, that is not operated by BCT. I think this route is suitable for a community shuttle, but route 23 does need a regular bus (Gillig BRT or Proterra ZX5) instead of a community shuttle because the ridership is pretty high, and I don't think a minibus would work out that well! Also, all of the community shuttles that operates for Route 23 just got new livery designs that look like the new livery from BCT.
Yeah still miss them. Never even got to ride any of the ones Miami got. The XD60s that replaced them are... kinda underwhelming as they feel very... restrained compared to the other artics.
@transitshowcase2668 the miami ones were all hybrid I think You talking about the 1400 artics, or the later ones? Guess you weren't around for the 600s either
@@alexharris2495 No I am referring to the 2200s artics 2285-2299 as the 1400s artics 1430-1446 did not replace any artics. There are a couple videos of them on my channel. Also I HAVE taken the 600s artics but this was before I started filming transit, though I have a picture of 606 my mom took in 2015
@transitshowcase2668 ohok. I haven't gotten to see or ride the 2200s. Haven't been to broward in a while. The 600s were really great. My favourite buses were the 05 NABIS Though.
Lol this ride was actually around 100 minutes, but the video isn't that long since I always pause my recordings whenever the bus isn't moving (such as at bus stops or stoplights), something that every transit RU-vidr should do as it is much better for viewer experience than watching 2-3 minutes of standstill 🤷♂
Thanks! Though I should inform you that articulated B7Rs do not exist. Are you talking about the bus in the video linked below? 👇 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-80QzSATWgQo.htmlsi=oBFyvo1ss-0jkJD3 JUTC also doesn't have a Yutong E8, do you mean the one that's been here since 2015 or the brand new one that started running this week?
Yeah I used to take it sometimes back when I lived in Portmore. Don't have any recordings of it though. In fact for the foreseeable future this is going to be my second to last JUTC video on this channel as my backlog is coming to an end 😶
Oh yes, I have remembered doing a full ride on this route from Memorial Hospital Miramar to Aventura Mall (2018 Gillig BRT 40'; 1808 with New Livery). Unfortunately, I don't know why the stop announcement wasn't working, except for the "Stop Requested". 🤔
Yeah I saw that one, great video of the longest crosstown in BCT lol. The 62 is technically longer but north/south for a significant distance so it's not a "true" crosstown if that makes sense. Btw have you ever ridden route 15?
Nice, one disadvantage I've noticed with filming in 60fps on my phone is that there's no ois... Still, it's better than not having 60fps video at all ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Oh! Haha... actually it doesn't seem that JUTC is buying any more Volvos; the bus in the video is from the Chinese brand Golden Dragon. Apologies for the disappointment 😅
Hey John, telling you as a frequent rider of those buses that that's incorrect. The 2022 artics have Allison B500Rs while the 2022 Gilligs have ZF Ecolife. I have a couple videos featuring the 2022 New Flyers that you can watch and compare to this one
Awesome ride, man! I really miss those buses when they were always in service on Route 23! I don't really like the 2019 Champion Defender Ford F-550 because those buses looks ugly and the engine sound is very weird. Hopefully, LSF Shuttle will borrow some Gillig BRT buses from BCT and will be using those buses on Route 23 soon.
I'd more rather BCT take over the 23 altogether though that doesn't seem likely. As for the cutaways, my only real problem with them is the excessively bouncy ride quality. In Jamaica there exists a kind of bus called the Toyota Coaster which would be a much better fit for the route imo but I think those are illegal in the US 🤷♂️
