When I watched demos, I used to be so confused. Why are there no people in the landscapes? It couldn't be that hard to add a couple bmps of a person. But then I realized, the people were all around, watching the demos.
This cool see what we look like as kids playing on our commodores. Still today theirs people still making crack intro scene, demo scene. I’m Intel Mac now , not really a scene on Mac like the days of commodore. I remember my days soldering a reset button on my Commodore 64
The Amiga made us all more social interacting. Oh man, I always went to so many people with my benches full of 3,5 floppy disks, with games and of course empty disks as well. I scratched every penny I had together, run to the shop, to buy another box of 10 floppies. Great days....
Those were the days! I got my A500 for Christmas in 1990, just when i went to high school. I entered my 1st scene event (Scenest) in 1995 then i went again in 1996 & 1997. Maybe in 1998 too but im not sure about that.
My parent brought me Commodore 64 After that I brought my first computer A1200. Next I wanted them all so brought the commodore 128,128D, sx64 , A 500,600,2000, CD32. I was a young teen dreaming one own A4000
It was hilarious - and being part of the famous Brainstorm Crew who produced the ZINE Diskmag, we were even kind of VIP 🙂 Just imagine: Some of those guys who were at these parties are now millionaires.
I know you solved it, but as this video has some views I leave this here for anybody interested. 1) PhxAss and the CLI Guess the tutorials used an older version of phxAss (never used it myself) and the parameter format changed a little. To be able to scroll up you could install a different type of shell (or make less errors. Hey I'm kiddin'). You find them on Aminet. "ClassicWB" uses a shell (I think KingCon) which is able to scroll up. Check it out, it's a Workbench with really nice and useful addons. Like noname alredy said intendation is extremely important with asm code. Everything starting in the first column becomes a label. Yes it is D0 (zero). 68k registers are Dx and Ax with x being a digit 0..7 In Asm .b .w and .l are used to mark something as byte, word or longword. 2) When you activate a floppy drive on the Amiga you have to restart the machine, because it recognizes new drives only at bootup and reserves a little amount of memory for the buffer. Which is also the reason why some games that need nearly all of the available chipram of an A500, require you to boot without a second floppy drive (so df1 buffer doesnt take away any chipram). "#?" ist the Amiga equal to the modern "*" wildcard. "?" stands for any character, and "#?" for any number of them. Hey, this was the early 80s, so there wasn't a standard for this.
Awful video quality :) but interesting to see. I think we were around 1200 the first year. Then got up to 3500 at its peak. Amazing we could come together like that. amazing how people found out, pre internet. It must have been pretty much every computer nerd in denmark at a certain age range that showed up. It's like an army :) And we must be more or less the backbone of Denmark today.
Everything seemed new and fresh back then. ideas and creativity just flowing. All a bit samey now. nice look into the past. Most the music in the background sounds great. Amiga music man. What a sound
I was probably to young and my parents didn't have the money to take me and i knew very little of the amiga scene but i did have an amiga in 1991. I have found memories of playing amiga and i wish i new its true potential back then. Protraker and amos and the demo scene. I could of been more creative. The games tho. The games where awesome 👍
.....first there was the spectru...now psygnosis presents Amiga..., in those times a lot of ideas and so few memory for them, now days a lot of memory and so few ideas...
Great memories! I’ve always been a fan of northern Amiga Demo teams, but after watching this vintage footage... It was like a LAN-Party before the PC era, I love it. Cheers and ❤️ from 🇵🇹
Yes, from Switzerland (Zürich). I got my fingers on that tape during an internal meeting with some ZENITH guys on 6th Sept 1992 in Wettingen, made a copy of it and don't remember anymore to who i returned it back by post. But guess that original tape is already long lost, so I uploaded the copy of it a few years ago. Guess that's some Zenith members who were there (wasn't me).
At the time of the 68060 Turbocards, Games like "Breathless" actualy already needed them for the game to not be ugly and slow so i guess the Demoscene of BACK THEN would have creamed over the possibilitys of that hardware
yeah... and many of them are current game programmers. For example the team of second reality (future crew) are the authors and creators of max payne 🙂

@@LarsTragel-zh7ei My mind thinks I'm 20, in fact at age 50 I am physically and mentally much stronger and healthier than when I was 20. The same with you?

@@funcibus And I recently watched a viedeo about how/where Rockstar games origin. Their first released games was for Amiga!!
Ya, lucky with my genes I'm still only 145 pounds (66Kg) at 50, and definitely not feeling my age "yet" lol. Most of my friends are younger, including my girlfriend. But we all wish we were 20 again. heh
