My name is Ron, and my wife is Mary. We just started metal detecting. We hope to add videos when we have time to do so.
I use a Vanquish 440, and my wife uses a Xterra pro. We enjoy metal detecting after watching loads of videos of other detectorists.
The Detecting Duo is a favorite of ours. We also like Monterey Magnet man, Seek and Detect, Pirate Mike's Treasure, Treasure Outdoors, Detect Florida and Fun with Jim, just to name a few.

I find Soccer fields intimidating. I never know where to start. How do you suggest gridding them out? Maybe in the "winter" it'll be less grueling. Great video, I enjoy you you both.
@@MiamiDetectorist We start out by seeing where the spectators were sitting during the recent tournament they had at the 10 fields. We didn't even get through half of them. Might be going back this weekend to hit more of them. We also detect near the parking lot looking for drops.
Thanks for the advice. So it’s more about where the spectators are vs the players. That should be a little easier, the circumference of the fields. Thanks!
@MiamiDetectorist If I detect where the players are, I would only go for something close to the top. I don't want to dig up the playing field and have a player roll an ankle.

Appears to be a Mongolian coin from the Yuan Dynasty. Inscription looks slightly off, so it may be corroded or a completely different coin. EDIT: watching again i notice the back inscription, which tells me it may be of muslim origin as the Mongols used Afghanistan as a currency factory for awhile from what i remember

@IsitWirthdetecting I have been on the beach about 10 times and really did not find anything. I have found more in a park Than I have added all 10 beach hunts together. I do go every blue moon. But that is where every detectorist hit. San Diego, CA metal detectorists love the beach. Lol

While you are getting use to the tones and target ID'S dig it all. A 6 can be junk and most the time it is,, but it can also be a ring, or gold.
My wife uses a vevor scoop and handle. I have a CKG scoop with a fiberglass handle from a shovel from Harbor Freight. It was the cheap option instead of getting the carbon fiber handle from CKG.
