@@CJFRAMESI’m currently practicing gilding and I notice when I lay 12k leafs they have white lines like scratches when I start burnishing the gold?My teacher thinks my brush gets wet and leaves those marks on the gold
@@Chava0454 if your agate stone is properly broken in then the next likely thing is the base. The gesso or clay not properly sanded. Next the surface should be completely dry before burnishing. If you don't leave enough time that can happen. What your teacher says may also be possible but I think that's a remote possibility.
@@CJFRAMES how long would you recommend to let the gold dry?I also notice the 12k leaves looked stained like they have a white foggy like stain on them maybe that could be the problem too maybe it’s old gold🤷♂️
Would that be a sharpened wood dowel used to make the drawing into the bole? Also was that a spatter technique used apply either casein or some fluid to the outer edge?
