- Nisse
Iht. Hilsen Claus AutoUniqa
With no info coming in from the MAF regarding ambient temps and whatnot, is that indicative of a knackered MAF? Or is it just not talking to the NanoCom. Sorry, that bit went way over my head lol 🤷♂️
Hi HeliRy, No this is indicative of the readout available from the Nanocom. We ourselves were a bit surprised not to see this as a readout in the dataset available via. the Nanocom log. But this being the first time using the Nanocom for logging, this is what happens sometimes. But now a bit wiser, we're aware that this data is not pressent. So might look for a way to log this when getting the Defender on a rolling road.
Best mod on these is a 3 inch turbo back exhaust, and a VGT turbo. Probably worth chucking in a fresh set of injectors too if you're still on the original set.
Get rid of the EGR valve immediately. If you ever need to remove the inlet manifold, you will find it full of very sticky thick black tar which is extremely difficult to remove. I found that the silicon hose that is attached to the turbo kept becoming detached. It would slowly ease itself off the turbo. I ended using a correctly sized exhaust clamp rather than the pipe clip that you are using. Don’t throw the original ones away, just in case…
Stage2 in a TD5 is allways a good idea! You may think about removing the DPF (not only) for the Sound 😇 Some thoughts: If you want to use the Stage2 the intercooler should be upgraded. A decat pipe would help to reduce the exhaust gas temperatures. Instal an EGT-gauge to keep an eye on the temperature to protect the turbo.
Hi Graham. I am aware that in order to get the full benefits of my stage 2 remap a bigger intercooler would be beneficial but it is a nice to have and not a need to have as I also have a standard turbo so it will not make a huge difference. I will hopefully in the future be able upgrade my intercooler and turbo. Regarding the DPF. I am aware that the Td5 doesn't have a DPF but as following the law in Denmark it is required for diesel cars before 2012 to have a DPF. If you watch my video about my exhaust falling off you will be able to see it :)
Pity about the sound, and the filming for the 2 under bonnet filters could be improved, but i imagine you are new to this so its excellent compared to so many other peoples early and later videos, given you a sub
Hi George Thanks for subscribing despite the not too ideal sound and video quality. You’re right! It it my first video and I’m still learning and hoping to improve along the way.
