Hi everyone! 👋 I hope you enjoyed the tutorial. I noticed a small typo at the end of the video where it says "THX you for watching." Due to space constraints, I had to abbreviate "thanks." Thank you for understanding! 😊 If you have any questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask here in the comments. Don't forget to subscribe for more tutorials!
As explained in the video at 0:42, create an AI file with different lip shapes on each layer, import it as a 'Composition - Retain Layer Sizes,' and sequence the layers in After Effects. There is a better method that I will be sharing in the future using Character Animator and After Effects. Stay tuned!
Thank you! I just wanted to show how you can create it from scratch and that everything can be done in After Effects without using an already created PNG file by someone else.
Hey Violeta, very nice tutorial, the final effect looks impressive! I have one question though - how would you deal with different color of icons on each phone? For instance the blue phone's "phone" icon is yellow where the purple's is green and red's is blue. Personally I'd move the HLS effect to adjustment layers and try to mask out the icons, but perhaps there's a better way of doing it that I'm not aware of. Would be great to know your approach to this problem. Thanks!
Thank you so much for your kind words! I appreciate your positive feedback on the tutorial. We can achieve different colors for each phone's 'phone' icon by duplicating the 'Mobile Phone' composition. Add an adjustment layer between the two 'Mobile Phone' compositions and create a mask on the adjustment layer. Toggle on the Track Matte (Top Mobile Phone composition to Adjusment Layer) and adjust the mask path frame by frame using keyframes. While this method works, it can be labor-intensive. Another approach could be changing the colors of the icons directly in Ai (Adobe Illustrator) and importing each variant as a separate file or same file different layers and importing as Composition Retain Layer Sizes. This eliminates the need for the Color Balance Effect in After Effects. Let me know if you discover a more efficient method!
Absolutely, @hendka6006 ! It's incredible to think about the visionary ideas and patents Nikola Tesla left behind. His work truly had the potential to accelerate technological progress by leaps and bounds. Thank you for sharing your insights!
