Glad you have a job you love. Sadly most people love a thing that isn't economically viable. Teaching was the closest I ever got, but it was so incredibly exhausting and all-consuming despite low pay, that a lot of the fun was taken out of it. You always felt like you had to work harder and harder to do right by the kids, because so much was put on you. It's burn-out central. Perhaps if I could work a three fifths of a class load, work just 40-50 hours on that partial class-load and still somehow make enough money to live... yes, then it would be possible to love it long term. Other things I could enjoy would be things like music performance, or writing novels, which unfortunately has a large dose of luck involved. Lots of people would love to do those things, and so it's hard to make money doing it. You have to be one of the best to begin with, and even then you need a dose of luck. I currently do some educational writing for a living, and it's fine for me, but it certainly doesn't bring the joy of writing novels. It's just a reality that in this world we live in, with so many necessary but not-so-fun jobs, it's almost a necessity that a lot of people work to live, rather than living to work. Competition for jobs a large percentage of the population would love is fierce. Though I'm certainly envious of those who truly love their job.
The watch "community" seems so shallow, people who aren't watch nerds won't even notice. I still think its a little tacky to have such a flashy-looking piece as opposed to something more conservative at a similar price but I like the OLEV skeleton automatic watches with the stars and everything because its just so over the top. I would feel similarly uncomfortable having a watch worth more than my car on my wrist too, its classy if you've earned it but to be a show off is so vain
I recently stumbled across a documentary called 'what the Butler saw' which piqued my own interest in a career in butlering. Full disclosure - it may not have been a documentary🙄 Anyway it got me so....err....enthused that I have decided to start a rival operation to yours based at my home here in Perthshire. Situated as I am on the banks of the river I intend to call my butlering school The Remains of the Tay. Wish me luck 🤞
Definitely a more elegant solution to this annoying problem than my usual remediation which is to place the bottle in the center of the table and hand my fellow dining companions XL sized bendy straws.
That intro was great. Do you really think they used that part of the brand name OLEV on purpose to look like the name Rolex? I want to buy one now so I can Sharpie the box. Thanks for the video.
Got my first Oupinke last week, which is basically Olevs higher-end line, and I was shocked by the quality of it. Paid $340, but it genuinely looks and feels like a $500+ watch
Love the watch itself, but the bracelet is utter rubbish… especially at that price point. The end links wobble around, and as for the clasp… pressed? Really? Come on Seiko!
Hi Yes it does work on deep pile carpet. It is not as effective because it is harder to get the solution into the stain but it does work. It will take a little longer
Nicely done. But I think it is okay to ask the guest how much they want to be served by saying "Please guide me." just before you start serving the food. you are not shouting it out, but even if the guest is in conversation, they will hear it & hopefully comply. Or just serve according to the Chefs recommendation.
Interesting question! I have actually cut up people's food in the past BUT it was because they were disabled and couldn't hold the knife and fork. But I would never ever do it at the table because I feel that would be humiliating for the guest. I took it to the kitchen very discreetly and did it there and then brought it back without anyone noticing. I cannot imagine doing it for someone who is not disabled. I guess it is possible this girl is disabled but I still would not do it like this.
Looks like she thought it would be such an honor for him to do this for her, on what seems to be a special day, she filmed the moment and posted it on social media. Beautiful smile, I hope the food was good.
Maybe she has been infantilized to the point she can barely function? Or maybe this is how she feels powerful, making people do things she considers beneath her?
Yes I think it could well be one of those! The strange thing is it looked like they were using it as an advertisement for the cruise ship as "influencer marketing" personally it puts me right off the idea of a cruise because I might get sat next to this girl!
Even if you made an exact copy of a Rolex even made by Rolex on the sly by a Rolex employee if it didn't have the right serial number on it people would trash it just because the serial number don't compute that's how fickle human beings are these days !
So true. Actually I have seen exactly this. A friend of mine has an exact replica of a Rolex. He was showing ot to someone and they were saying how beautiful the workmanship was. He then told them it was not a real Rolex and suddenly they started to notice 'flaws' in it and started saying it was "obviously not as good as a real one" even though 2 mins before they had been saying how amazing it was! It is all about perception.
I love that dining room so much! Not sure the ceiling was necessary lol. But it certainly makes it unique! I was always a big fan of Billy Connolly, so this is doubly interesting.
Interesting some rooms look 19th century, whereas others look 20th century. Is there any part of the building that is as it was in the 15th century? Also yes that unique room is bonkers.
It's really just the walls that are from the original structure. You can see some evidence of the original building but you really need to look for it. It has been used constantly throughout the ages so it has constantly been updated.
@@RossetBespokeButlers Turin sounds like a Middle-earth character, do you know the names of the different Scottish clans? The internet isn't helpful in that regard.
