I was 9 yrs old in 1982 and that's the first time I visited Opryland with my new foster family. I loved it!!! I was terrified the first time I rode the Wabash Cannonball but later on, it became my favorite ride!!! I had a season pass eventually and our foster parents would drop us off and we would spend the whole day having a blast.

WOW 1990 until 2006 means this mall only had a 16 yr lifespan, which is so short for a mall. There's some still around me barely hanging on in 2024 that were built and never remodeled even once since opening in 1984 like Middlesboro KY Mall. Great video I miss the 80s and 90s so much, if they ever do time machines I'd leave this dreaded awful time period and return to then and never come back.
I used to live right there 219 pearl on the 3rd floor directly across from Mesa Kitchens. I had quite a few very strange incidents happen.during the 3 years I lived there. I had the Best Landlord who I ever had, that was his lawyer office he practiced out of until he passed away suddenly and unexpectedly for us tenants. I'd say he would probably be flipping in his grave if he found out how his son treated us all, forcing everyone to move out immediately after his death. 3 families were displaced we were all devastated and in tears because we loved our homes there. He would had never allowed that to happen. Including the fact my leg was broken and I couldn't walk let alone move anything. I lost everything I owned and still trying to recover from that.
This is the best video of Opryland I have seen. My grandparents had season passes and took me and my siblings a lot in the Summers here. The videos while riding the rides is unbelievable. It really is like I'm back there again. Thank you so much!!!
Cool video, Duke. I've been wanting to get to the walking bridge this summer but haven't made time for it. Used to always take my dates over there. Don't have a date right now, though, lol. Keep rockin', my dude.
