@@vdar yeah strait away is one thing but the curves and width of that track don’t let you rev it out as much as a bigger track would. Leaving a lot of power on the table. Was more a comment on how brutally fast those cars are. Kind of personal preference, not saying it doesn’t look super fun, love the G series engines and plan on getting a comp xdrive sooner than later.
Thanks Ed! Yeah I’d say it was above average for my group that time. I went back last Nov and ran a 1:37.x but in the slightly faster GTS models they use now. So much fun learning to get that little bit better each time 🤗
@@vdar that's smokin' fast. I heard Cass can do a 1:35 in a GTS, so you're nearly at ideal. I ran 1:43 in the GTS in a (very warm) Masters class last week, my first time at Barber. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oD6p_QM8dlY.html
Yep it can get very sketchy because there can be huge speed differentials and people might not always see you coming… since this is just HPDE and not racing, you just ease off the throttle well before, wait for a safe place to overtake (like the exit of T2) and give a friendly little wave as you go by 😊
I’m just looking up on boards and have never seen what Pacific Raceways looks like, but the fact that at 0:43 you’re doing 120 mph and there really isn’t anything stopping you besides a dirt mound maybe from sending it into the trees if you lose control is nuts and I love it. Fantastic circuit and driving
It is indeed an *amazing* machine on track and remains totally trust worthy as you grown into a better driver. I hope you get to experience it for yourself soon!
@@vdar I'm sure I will, fortunately, I get to play with my mr2 in the meantime. I actually did a similar lap to you, sliding thru T8. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ls7hW0fjOxE.htmlsi=X8MoPRKukXBr9Dd_
Thank you! This is a VBOX HD2 system wired into the CAN bus :) The line I take through 3a and b is definitely not the “school line” but well tested among GT3 owning friends to be a few tenths faster 👍🏾
@@Wheelman81 Hi there! I think a double apex line through T2 works well for cars with lots of grip. Similarly with an inside entry into T8… less distance traveled rather than going all the way to the right and can still get the car slowed and turned effectively. Hope that makes sense? I am by no means an expert so take above with grain of salt 😅
Haven’t ran the chicane yet, I was against it when put in but after watching it adds a few elements to it. It is fun using the limit into T1, but let’s face it - north of 150 increase the risk factor ALOT.....! Nice lap !
