This is very cool. I’m an A&P and starting to think sims are what I’d like to work on 😅
@HorstFederau
@HorstFederau 20 часов назад
They are a lot of fun. Also, besides fabricating the physical simulator, there is a whole fabrication process of building the computer model with all the specs and correct flight dynamics
@fa-ajn9881
@fa-ajn9881 20 часов назад
@@HorstFederau That’s the aspect I’m really interested in. I’ve been into flight sims since kindergarten and have been building PCs messing with flight sim hardware since. Sometimes I think I like setting new stuff up and getting it just right more than actually playing 😂

@HorstFederau 20 часов назад
@@fa-ajn9881 I totally understand what you are talking about 😀. Many A&P have come by to check out the sim, especially because it is made from a real plane. Plane Maker is a lot of fun to play around with to get systems and flight dynamics correct

Thanks for the very interesting video Horst. I've never seen an 'intermediate' cost flight sim platform, (much more expensive than a home-user DOF setup, but much cheaper than the millions cost of a commercial cockpit sim). A very attractive option for anyone with (I guess) about 50k and a high ceiling room to accommodate it. Presumably when the cockpit fuselage section is attached, it would be surround by projection monitors ?

Thank you. Yes, I really like this product, it is about U$30K (plus shipping). The 65" TVs are already mounted to the frame. If you look at one of my previous videos you will see how it looks from inside the cockpit.

Dear Horst Federau, I'm Yuki from Japan. Thanks for the very exciting video. Your video inspired me to buy a VSI. I am planning to incorporate a stepper motor. However, the shaft that moves the needle is very thin and it seems difficult to connect it to the motor shaft. In your video it looks like it can be smoothly interlocked, but how is it connected? I'm looking forward to your answer. Best Regards, Yuki
@HorstFederau

Hi Yuki, I replaced the factory shaft with my own. It is really hard to connect to the original shaft. I took it all apart and replaced it.

@dieselkiha5465 Год назад
@@HorstFederau Thank you very much for your quick reply. I see, you are replacing the shaft! Is the shaft you replaced a custom-made shaft? If so, is the shape very thin on one side and matches the shaft of the servo motor on the other side? Best Regards, Yuki
