I believe CIG missed a golden opportunity to make a cool clamp style mount for the command module to perch above the rear middle of the ship (like a modern bulk carrier). I'd much rather have a top-down view around rather than stuck to one side
I wonder how the PDCs are going to work. Do we have to press something to activate them when missiles/torpedoes are incoming or do they activate automatically? And how effective will they actually be? Would they just block anything a Retaliator, Eclipse, or other Polaris can throw at it or is there a chance that they might make it through? Really wish they'd provide more details on that.
Deeper I my favorite ship & I honestly do not mind the changes (as they male perfect sense); but i will say the ONLY thing I wish CIG would update on the body is the turret size. The big chonky turrets look amazing with size 5s on them, but look almost cartoonishly oversized for size 4 guns. Like a big man with a Derringer kind of goofy. If CIG were to slap on a pre-made Aegis remote turret to be used by the remote operator seats (yeah, let the pilot keep one turret & let one of the seats switch between the rear turret and / or the dorsal / ventral turret), that would look amazing! Hell, CIG could even leave the turret access points for crew to load ammunition cassettes or repair the turret brains of knocked offline. I am also with the thought the engine pods should be rotated 45° so they could swing out & unfold with an amazing VTOL animation. (That and from the front end view, the canted engine pods would legit form the Aegis emblem!)
Where are the old ships we will be fighting that are not the ships we have purchased? This game needs the Common, Above Average, and Elite ships. So we have things to strive for in an MMO.
They overpriced the Persus by $75 but perfectly priced the Polaris. For that reason alone, the Polaris is the better buy. $675 for the Persus or $750 for a Polaris. The Persus is worth $600 in concept max and $650 after release. It's another Cutlass Steel.
I'm a big CNOU fan but I very much dislike the Nomad. The design feels nothing like the Mustang. Too angular, looks more anvil. I love the retro look of the Mustang and hope any multi crew ships they make for CNOU resemble the mustang more.
Really hoping CIG spruces up the true starter offering. I'm a diehard CNOU fan (minus the nomad which doesn't share the design language of the Mustang). I would love to see a Cutlass equivalent CNOU ship.
A few months ago I sold about $1,500 worth of my ships online. Because of ship price increases over the years, I didn’t loose a penny. I just went to look for what’s being sold on October 2nd to find the market flooded. Some okay deals but most seem to be people selling their entire account.
The car with a missile rack might be the missile rack they talked about in SC live just after citizen con last year. and it is for transporting missiles to rearm ships. If it is, its silly if they only add that to a land vehicle though. I don't know if it where with the feature team or vehicle team.
There was a Zeus Stratus in the initial promo last year -- that could be the VIP carrier. I'm very curious about the MISC options and whether that means MISC is the new manufacturer focus.

Ultimately the problem is marketing. Pimped out overpowered ship sells for a lot. Reality sets in, planned or unplanned, and after the cash grab the balancing comes in. Not the most ethical approach with 10 years of game development when we could have learned from this already.
I originally got into SC and the redeemer was my instant favorite. I upgraded up from it to the perseus and currently have a hammerhead as a loaner. I would say the size comparison put alot into perspective. I still think they owe the consumers a apology for nerfing something they sold at a price point then reduced. Personally i believe the redeemer shouldnt cost over 300 bucks now but be closer to 200.
The ship shown while talking about the intrepid looks like the Zeus. Even has a nice blacked out region for the forward ladder and wings that fold like the Zeus.
Counter argument to the Fortuna being a Vulture alternative - A cargo lift wouldn't really make sense unless it could carry a pretty decent amount. Also, an alternative to the Vulture makes zero sense at this point, as we still desperately need something to fill the void between the Vulture and Reclaimer. Also, regarding the ground vehicle, I suppose there isn't really any reason why it *NEEDS* to be an AA platform. I have no idea if CIG ever intends to implement it, but artillery is something I'd really like to see at some point. Perhaps this could be the first artillery vehicle?
It isn't CIG standard practice to release more than a couple of ships at a time, since releasing them slowly means making more money per ship. So maybe we should expect these ships to come in a trickle.
so all in all. More money grabbing, less actually useful stuff, and overall CIG not listening to the players AGAIN. The ONLY thing im even the tiniest bit interested in is upgrading my m2 to the ironclad. otherwise the rest of this IAE event is fuckin trash and the devs should feel bad.
thanks for your short and concise videos, other SC content creators will see 1 sentence written by a dev and make a 20 minute video on it with half the video being "whats your thoughts" and they pump out 1 such video every 18 hours. and then go "why is my viewership going down, game must be unpopular now." so anyway. thanks for having fresh and short videos.
My guess about the zeus and passengers is that the version they accidentally showed last year was a passenger version, and they're planning on surprise releasing it with the other two.
Isn't it interesting that after they nerf the redeemer and corsair size 5 guns, they announce a new solo pilot heavy fighter Mirai Guardian which has 2 size 5's.... F... CiGreed
