Practical Performance Car is the home of performance cars and tuning for grown-ups. Originally launched as a print magazine in 2004, PPC has now evolved into a fully fledged RU-vid channel featuring a fusion of all things automotive.
Focusing on classic cars that enthusiasts can (and do) build on their drive/garage/shed/living room floor, PPC is hosted by magazine founder and editor, Will Holman, and long-term contributor, Ben Allen.
Will and Ben are both petrolheads with an unhealthy obsession about buying/fixing/destroying/hoarding old cars. Cars with personality, cars with soul, cars for the love of (cool) cars.
Wow what a garage!! Good to see G760 XOY again, I owned it between 2011 and 2016. Competed in RSOC Concourse for 2 years and won a good cup with it 🏆 (plate was G2 HTR back then) I know every inch of that motor 👍
Never owned 1 but certainly regret it now . Couple of my mates had them infact 1 had at least 6 or 7 from 90ish . My second car at 21 was a 4 years old F reg Astra GTE 16V all 3 of usat the time thought the 16V GTE was the better car . I loved the Red top that much I followed it up with a 2 years old J reg Cavalier GSi 2000 which I adored. The friend that had quite a few 205Gti's also had several 309GTi's a red F reg and a beautiful J reg really dark green similar to BRG ..
Any eight valve bike engine with differential would be an ideal power unit. Anything air cooled will need cooling fans. My R1200 GS hated heavy traffic in London.
Fascinating. Some years ago I had a very nice Fiat 500F, and by chance had a spare BMW R90S engine, and I thought that would be an interesting swap - 18hp to 72hp! I seriously wanted to do it, but circumstances changed and I never got the opportunity. This Citroen is genius! Thanks for this video.
What an awesome car!! A 2CV6 was my first car, with crazy wild 23hp 🤣🤣🤣 once I drove it on the Autobahn going almost 130km/h on a long straight downhill section. Felt like flying 😂
This video makes me grinning! The engine sound and the gear whine are exactly from BMW Motorrad Motor. I also owned the predecessor R1100R and owns R1200CL of the same R259 engine. That model is like a tank. Respect!🎉
Back in the late 1960s over in the UK a bug eye sprite was given some proper treatment by the fitment of a D-Type Jag engine, drivetrain and significantly up-rated suspension. The car ended up in Australia and was written up in an article during the early 1980s in a now defunct magazine called Australian Sportscar World. The journo who wrote the article and test drove the car needless to say was somewhat scared given the significant power increase. I note that the use of Jag Twin cam engines have been also done in more recent times.
My mom had that xr2 as I first car and she said it was too fast for her so my dad sold it to my uncle. She later on got the phase 2 xr3i cab limited edition with the green stripe I think that was her favourite car ever.
hi there ! i had the chance to drive this special 2cv in France Normandy several months ago (because Robert is a friend of mine) and i have to say : "WOW !! what is this ?". As he said; i loved it because it is a real 2cv (and i can say that i know these cars well) but it has the heart that was missing in the original one : an engine !!! I was spechless and i just couldn't stop smiling while driving !!! When this beast revs about 5000/6000, it sounds like a 2nd engine begins to play !!! thank you for that Robert (and Pete !)
A while ago i see a black 2vc with bmw engine on a race track. The curve speed was very high. Was fun watching the 2 cv overtake the others in the corners on the outside and stuff.
