What does refurbished mean? Does it mean it's not created by Apple and by another China company? If that's if, does that not make it completely fake and not even an Apple product? And what's the difference between the refurbished and original and how can I spot them?
My life outsidr of the US is that I paid approximately $1100 for the AllyX which came with faulty triggers and I have no option to return it. Waiting on Asus to source replacement parts from fuck knows where 😂 Surely this is criminal breach of trust and cheating on whoever did this. Can’t see how someone can get away with this or expect to get away with it
That should have been turned off before shipping.. thats horrible because it had no room to use the fan to keep the motherboard cool which is horrible because that could have melted some paste off the motherboard.. this shows negative effects later on.
yeah man, the open box was tempting, but to avoid any kind of BS, I decided to just go for the new one. This way at least I know I'm the only one fucking shit up, lol
Savages. I had to return my first one, I, unfortunately, redeemed the game pass offer, I mean why wouldn't I, I didn't know I'd be returning it, and it was a part of the set-up process. Then I redeemed the second one, and to my shock, they stock up, so now I have 6 months for free.
@@jasonj8246 Here is the deal, I'll be honest. First unit, on day one, I opened it up to upgrade the SSD. Everything went well, I basically followed some videos I saw on that, but a few days later, I started noticing the device creak and squeak a lot, not feeling solid, at all, and the right trigger started making a nasty spring noise. Here is the honest part, I thought I messed it up, so I returned it and ordered another one, and I felt like a dick, I promise, lol. Now comes the twist. I got the second unit, and decided not to open it and leave the OEM SSD in. About a week later, I got the same spring noise in BOTH triggers, and the device kind of started to "loosen up" on its own, some creaks and squeaks started showing up, maybe not quite a bad, though, so after all, it might have been me, or maybe not entirely. Saw others had the same issue, had no choice but to open it to lube the trigger springs. Went much, much more carefully about it this time. Opening it up painfully slowly, one clip at the time, with a cardboard card folded so nothing gets scratched or dented. It went well, I got the triggers fixed, and since I was already inside, replaced the SSD, put it back together and the unit felt much stronger again. Basically, long story short, there might be some minor build quality issues.
Yeah, I have seen that a couple of times and I missed out on the first one and then it popped back in there at that price again and I jumped on it. I’ve been checking prices since and I have not seen it under 525 on Amazon, but the condition was fantastic except for Mark on the back of the joystick the screen itself was in perfect shape so that I have the right one fixed replaced it, practically brand new
@@BETEP-gw7qp I bought a "Fair" Z1 Og Ally and when i brought it home to test, both triggers and one joystick it seems like they dont bother to actually test them
Just returned my ally x. The ergonomics for me were poor, hands cramped up so fast, tried some thicker grip tape but nopw. Also, windows on handhelds just are not fun. I dont care that my steam deck oled is less powerful , it just feels so good to use. If i need to play aaa games, moonlight /sunshine into my computer and juat play.
I find the OG Ally better in the hands for sure. I think the problem is it’s too short top to bottom. It could benefit from more surface area for your hands
I'm convinced that the QC at Best Buy isn't too great. Not only was it ON in the box, but it was also In recovery mode, somehow. Seems like they ran outta time before they boxed it and shipped it off, LOL
Yeah, I will say that having worked retail I've seen some crazy stuff like a brand new sealed iPad that was on and even had the voice assistant turned on so it was talking through the box. But that's pretty darn rare and means the box was likely handled pretty rough. Would be nearly impossible for that to happen with the ROG Ally as well due to the power button being further ressessed from the edge of the box because of the shoulder buttons.
Nah, the screen is outstanding and it has a Kickstand that you can prop up in your lap or anywhere else. Yes the speakers are lacking because of the direction placement, but that is the only negative.. Sorry, the Legion is the best.
@@user-ih6oe9ny3j Have you ever actually owned a Legion Go?? Because if you have you wouldn’t even have made those comments. The only time it gets loud is when you run it up to 25-30 Watts on performance or Custom.. Other than that it’s quiet. The Ally gets loud when you pump up the Watts, sooooo……
I just purchased one in acceptable condition lol. It should be here on Friday, honestly I’m surprised that it has all of the original items. Thanks for posting a review.
@@1upLegendsPrimeno difference than the negatives from the og? Dude it has double the battery and only slightly heavier the fact that you’re fatiguing yourself from playing with something that only weighs like 70 grams heavier is concerning
It’s a 70gram difference. Yea it’s “heavier” but the difference is not enough to cancel out the improved ergonomics. When the handheld starts approaching 900 grams then yea the weight is overbearing compared to whatever the ergonomics may be. But at like 680 grams, it’s not uncomfortable to hold and game on for a few hours. Been enjoying mine the last few days, and unless I am directly comparing them, the weight difference isn’t something I immediately pick up on.
Great take. I can't say about the claw but have both Ally OG and X. I agree with you the Ally OG's 608g is its top strenght, and the extra 70g on the Ally X is felt. That said, the Ally X being a176g lighter than the Legion Go (854g). On the sticks and buttons, Ally X feel a WORLD better than the mushy-wushy the OG's feels like. Another thing is the thumbsticks on the ally are match the Xbox ones, so there is a lot more options in thumbstick grips for it.
Great take as well. The sticks are definitely a match for the Xbox ones and I’m planning on trying maybe some of those skull and co ones. Thanks for watching!
i would think a person could get in trouble for doing this,,,i am thinking best buy will change the way returns are handled,,,,they will probably require they see what's in the box before they accept it,,,at least they should
PS you are a RU-vidr, and forget about those people that called it a scam. They probably do that and looking to put someone else down. Keep going my guy . I was looking to get a new or an open box. Will you have insurance on the new one that you purchase?
I returned it to bear buy. And the guy was shaking his head at the length to which this guy went. Especially pulling off the sticker and putting it on the white one. I was able to order another open box from Best Buy and should be here Wednesday so we will see how that one turns out! Ha
One time I bought a brand new MacBook Pro from Costco and went home to open it and there was a gym weight plate in the box. I went back to return it and they tried to hassle me and said they need to investigate. I told them to investigate their own people and I want my money back or a replacement. I walked out with a MacBook that day. I started getting angry. lol. I wonder if they ever caught who did it.
