I remembered me, my sister, and mother use to come across this game at Target 🎯. We bought it anyways because we use to love playing Mario Tennis on the N64 together. We had fun at first, but we never really gotten use to the jump shot mechanics, and when we realized that there were no tournament/career mode, we put it down and played some other games instead. A few years later after playing Aces, I went back, dust off the old Wii U system, and tried it out again, but with a new perspective. After playing it, the core gameplay was rather... strange compared to previous entries. The controls felt simple to play, of course, but the character movements felt a bit faster compared to previous titles (everyone moves so freaking fast at a drop of a dime, my goodness). The jump shot mechanic is too repetitive, and easy to spam, losing a sense of realism in a tennis game like having to react and just positioning your shot with a grounded topspin, slice, etc. The ball physics is weird, most of the time you will just rally volleys near the net against your opponent, again, combining that jump shot which you easily spam, as a result, makes it less enjoyable to watch and defeats the uses of strokes, unless you play Simple Mode, I guess. The Chance Shots makes a terrible transition into this game and I don't understand why they brought it back here. They were fine in Mario Tennis Open because you could bait your opponent rather to use the chance shot or not, which created a bit of skill, especially online. It wasn't a WIN button either because you still have decent ball physics and you could use different shot types to play mind games around your opponent. But here, it's even MORE braindead with the addition of Ultra Smash Shot. If you or your opponent lunge once, a purple glowing spot will appear. Everyone will want go to the purple spot and try to mash Y twice just to get the upper hand, not letting you recover from your lunge and having to react to the Ultra Smash Shot, which goes INSANELY fast. It's so dull and boring. Mega Battles, you just grow big, having better stats and an unfair advantage. I'm not going to mention the in-game content, of course, because there's barely any. To the game's credits though, the game looks nice. I also really like the idea of training your Amiibo, upgrading its speed, reaction, acceleration, agility, etc. Surprisedly, this is subjective, but the soundtrack is great, I had a jam listening to the Game Point, Online Menu, and Break Point themes. Motoi Sakuraba did an amazing job, seriously. Ashame that the game was rushed at this state towards the Holiday season of 2015. I'm very thankful for Mario Tennis Aces though, it looked like Gamelot had learn their lesson from Ultra Smash. I have put over thousands of hours into Aces, and it had made me a lover for the whole franchise, Mario Tennis 64, Mario Tennis GBA, Mario Power Tennis, Mario Tennis Power Tour, etc. (We don't talk the Virtual Boy game though).
Thank you very much for putting this iconic Soundtrack I began playing this game yesterday and today I made investigate with detective kamada and this music begins to play and that makes I can not skip it because it's so good and emotional and I went to youtube to download it and I found you thanks ❤❤❤🤍🤍🤍
@@dxdx6718 I would greatly appreciate it! I listen to music off RU-vid through another site to get better shuffle and avoid ads. So while I could maybe try my hand at uploading stuff from Emio myself, it’d be nice if you could reenable the embedding.
@@dxdx6718 I would greatly appreciate it! I listen to music through RU-vid uploads, but I load my playlist into a third-party website so I get better shuffle and an ad-free experience, so it'd be nice if I could use your Emio soundtrack videos without any issues.
@@dxdx6718 I just checked. Every song except for this one is working now - I assume it'll be a quick fix to make sure this one's good to go as well, though. Thank you!
I missed so much with this demo as I just played through it without really using the phone. I read somewhere the numbers you could phone in previous games (or maybe just 2) work in this game apparently too.
@@LaytonFan94 oh yeah, i know it does play when interviewing kamada, but i was wondering if it played anywhere else. I gotta play the demo again while i wait for my physical copy...
So cool and I missed all this in my play through. The game has a lot of easter eggs. Thanks for posting. Do you plan on uploading the new songs from chapter 2?
How did you even do it like that? I must have a serious skill issue because I used almost every item to assist me, every useful perk like life rip and all, and you managed to beat them all without it.
This game has been giving me the feelings that I have always dreamed of since playing Ace Attorney 1 on DS a decade ago. Both of them transfer me to a different world with their ambient, calm but creepy atmospheres. So excited for the full release.
