Ehhhhhh ok! Im a british soldier and was serving in Cyprus for 6 months (2016) ! I was board out my skull and ended up inside a MTG shop having never heard of it before! Guy behind the desk was real nice guy and got me into collecting the cards for my time there! I don't even know how to play the game but fell in love with the art! I bought this exact card ( foil ) from him for £15 and also a revised underground sea for £10 along with 1000's of other cards! Only now am i starting to realize these things are worth money now 😂 lucky i sleaved, foldered and boxed them till today when i saw this vid. I jumprd out my chair and ripped that box open 😂
@@kodeenmtg cheers bud! Now i feel i need someone who knows what they are looking at to go through my 20+ folders and tell me what is worth anything as i have no idea 🤣 the guy in the shop was some sort of MTG judge for games and he sold me some " judge cards "? They valuable or just special? I did not pay alot of money for all my cards as most were a shop made lucky dip packet type thing! But a few in the packets were decent cards! I was buying the packets faster than he could put them together 😂 the cards are addictive to collect!
Ashnods Altar seems good in this deck Double scion value and if you played with Hideous Taskmaster you can sac all the stolen creatures after combat and potentially do more titan shenanigans
@@kodeenmtg i have like 25 total now. Of them my absolute grail is the 500/500 urabrask alt. Art. Then I have 500/500 kroxa! Yargle 500/500psa 10 , inspiring statuary 500/500 , blazing archon 500/500 , karlov of the ghost council 500/500 graded 9,5 quads cardmarket..and the rest are numbers 111,222,333,444 and low numbers. Not planning to sell any! Definetely not the bookends =)
08:50 No dude, Protection is one of the most powerful keywords in Magic. If you cast Eldritch Immunity targeting your own creatures, those creatures instantly gain protection from each colour until end of turn. Damnation and Deluge are BLACK spells, Farewell is a WHITE spell, and Blasphemous Act is a RED spell so the creatures you targeted with Eldritch Immunity are now PROTECTED against all those coloured spells. It doesn't matter what the cards say or what type of effects they apply, there is no way around protection. However, Eldritch Immunity does not protect your target creatures from colourless spells with devoid like the All Is Dust board wipe for example.
Protection of the applicable color doesn’t protect from deluge, damnation or farewell. That is not how it works. It only works against blasphemous act because that is damage. You are wrong Look it up
Protection from black (This creature can't be blocked, targeted, dealt damage, enchanted, or equipped by anything black.) Damnation does not target or deal damage the creature dies.
Dnt worry about the hate, they're bums straight up. Worrying about the next man's affairs rather than their own; the types that rather drag the playing field down to their level, not aspire to level up. Ppl w that mentality either grow up or stay broke forever. I hope the RL stays and that the usable cards go up. Glad you got to finish your dual set.
Thank you I can’t blame you, the price on this jumped up a good bit I was tempted to sell too but I figured I might as well test my luck with the collector pack lol
Thanks for sharing the commander deck opening, If you get echoes of eternity and you can generare 10+ spawns really quickly, cards like angelic aberration become pretty insane. Especially with the annihilator 1 effect from azlask. Lots of moving pieces in the mh3 eldrazi set but very fun!
Thank you for being here not the best at looking at spoilers lol, I’m surprised echoes of eternity wasn’t in the pre con. This deck is very easy to upgrade for sure. Lots of synergies to choose from and 5 colors
If you’re asking because it looked super duper shiny it’s because it was in a perfect fit. Thank you for inquiring you can’t be too careful with these kind of things
I'm a huge fan of eldrazis too. i have a Kozilek colorless bombs commander deck that would welcome this big boy more than happily. i really really hope this leak is real, it's going to be an absolute boogeyman of a card.
in the story isnt ulamog dead ? but if this is real the card is broken and the salt will be so bad when plying against it that the players will need a drink
We technically don’t know definitively they were defeated. It’s a rabbit hole of information but tldr they were manifestations of themselves. Ultimately it’s up to wizards magic fandom says. This was the end of the material manifestation of Ulamog on Zendikar
So it’s up to wizards. However there are a lot of times wizards will time travel such as with urza and you could say this is ulamog before he died whatever makes having half your library removed go down easier
@@kodeenmtg Modern horizons sets shows characters anywhere and anytime of their story (Urza and Yawgmoth youngs in MH1), and in the global storyline, from Antiquities to the most recent events, that's all. They are basically free
The Fourteenth Doctor is definitely not good - but I did make a decently fun jank deck with it. You can keep it mostly in flavour by filling the deck with all the Doctor cards (out of flavour if you fill it with Changelings) and then try to get the wincon from Gallifrey Stands to happen :D I run Clara as my second commander, which allows me to run it as WUBRG. I then attempt to kill off or sack as many Doctors as quickly as I can, and then aim to mass-revive them. This, of course, is a horrible game plan. But it was a fun deck to build. (Good to note too that if Gallifrey Stands fails, having a ton of Doctors on the field and activating 'Reverse the Polarity' to make them all unblockable can still produce funny effects!)
Its obviously THE doctor deck, im not a doctor who fan but I wasn’t underwhelmed with the power of all of the doctors. That however is the power of rule zero, anything is good lol
You missed one of the best cards for this deck: mormir vig, simic visionary, by resolving his green creature cast trigger before cascade you can hand pick each creature you want down to 5cmc
It looks like your definition of a powerful deck is a bit strange, or there's a few glaring oversights in the deck. When talking about power, there's 2 measurements generally used - win turn, and consistency of winning on that turn. That being said, I think some of your choices in the deck seem a bit questionable. w/ 31 land count, it seems that the deck would have trouble hitting land drops consistently, especially given the lack of low to the ground card draw. The card draw you do run, Harmonize and Consecrated Sphinx, doesn't seem good enough to warrant such a low land count - there is a lot of ramp in the deck, but if you're missing land drops, ramp is just land drops you pay for, and you're better off just running another basic. That being said, the basic count in the deck seems very solid, insulating against nonbasic hate like Blood Moon. The curve of the deck also seems very off, especially for a cascade focused deck. With 19 permanents at 2 CMC, I can't see how cascading doesn't just whiff half the time, and given the deck's inconsistent card advantage package that relies on hitting higher cmcs, as well as only 2 counterspells to help protect the commander, it seems very easy to cripple the deck with a single counterspell, and even if the commander does hit the battlefield, the cascade doesn't need to be countered a good 1/4th of the time. While there are uncounterable effects you run, there's not a consistent way to get to them. Good fixes to the above issues would include cutting some of the more splashy and flashy cards, such as Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger, as well as relatively inconsistent cards like Explore, and adding in topdeck manipulation like Brainstorm, Ponder, and Sensei's divining top to increase consistency and guarantee good cascades. In addition, more basic lands would help with hitting land drops consistently and making the ramp actually ramp you instead of supplementing a too low land count.
That being said, I understand wanting to play big splashy cards in your deck, and wanting to play all of them. I simply am pointing out that playing too many and neglecting basic deckbuilding principles in your deck may end up backfiring and making the deck function less powerfully and consistently than you wish it to.
The deck does actually play out consistently in practice and in games, I find the land count is good. You’re correct in that sometimes cascading can “whiff” but a spell is a spell. I wanted midrange might instead of library manipulation. The deck also isn’t supposed to be the BEST deck in the world. The disclaimer says “as powerful as we can for what we’re doing” and what we’re doing is just playing big dumb creatures.
I’m going to make a video where we do test hands and actually see how the deck performs when shuffled and played, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised with how consistent at a gameplan it actually is
The no counter spells bit is mostly because I didn’t wanna whiff on cascades. The one we have mana drain is too good to not try and play, and the module ones make for good enough cascades
Such an over done and lifeless corporate deck. Do deck techs on some home brews and interesting mechanics next time please instead of the current meta that everyone has already played against a million times.
@@kodeenmtgI think he’s referring to brawl on mtgarena where this commander is quite popular and has a bit of a frustrating play-pattern (either they slam omniscience and win or they don’t get it and concede) but the comment doesn’t make sense when the video is intended for edh lol
You’re not wrong it would have been a good example. However fakes are made by a bunch of different individuals and are subject to change. If you know what a real one looks like that’s a way better way to be sure
@@kodeenmtgI actually googled what the proper term for this box was but I probably still got it wrong -_-. I believe the correct term is "tournament pack". Anyway, it was the one with the Lightning Dragon on it, a 75-card "booster" with 3 rares, 10 uncommons, 32 commons and the rest were lands. I still remember where I was when I found this card even though I had no idea of what it would become. I just love it from the start and thanfully never traded it for some garbage nonsense being the ignorant kid that I was. Thanks for the video.
I’m happy you got to have that happen to you. I don’t mind buying these cards from people like yourself because no matter what parking money into magic isn’t a money dump as long as it’s serial or reserve list. We needed people who loved magic to keep and maintain these cards so that we can love them today. You’re welcome. Plenty more videos coming up
Really enjoyed the decklist man. I was looking at Baral and I feel the typical combo route is less fun than summoning out these huge bois. From my understanding of this list we try to self-perserve and draw/tutor our polymorph and then we try to win with our big creatures. How powerful would you say this deck is? I play pretty casual and I don't wanna unleash something too diabolical lol
More or less that is the strategy. I’d say the strength of this deck is entirely dependent on the meta. If your opponents are playing instant speed removal tribal it’s fair game, but if you mean “casual” as in Cyclonic Rift reads win the game I’d probably at least take out force of will, mana drain, rhystic study level cards and if they lose against mono blue without the best cards that’s on them
Hey, man! I just came across your channel and I'll just say, you are a true inspiration and I hope that you can fully recover very soon from whatever is ailing you, whether it's a mental battle, a physical one, or both. I know you can get through it.
Thank you my friend, I seem to be doing better now. Life’s always gonna be a mental battle for all of us so I just need good wishes on the physical part lol. I have the fitness channel where we’re getting back into working out if you wanna check that out
Thank you for sharing this. I'm new to magic and am building a Baral deck to play with friends. I'm on a limited budget but this helped me understand what kinds of cards I should be including. I definitely need more cantrips and the mana artifacts
Well done dude, that's awesome! I'm curious how sustainable that diet is tho. At some point I imagine you'd need to come off it, no? Would you gain weight back or would you just start eating maintenance calories instead?
In the future I’d switch it up, even have cheat meals. As far as on paper if I got on maintenance calories I’d just stop losing weight. Im pretty new to this whole field and I’m still trying to figure out what works best for me. I will add rice or something to it when I get to a healthy weight and then I’d gain a couple pounds on the scale because I’m adding carbs but it wouldn’t be fat that’s for sure
@@kodeenmtg That's awesome, glad you've already thought about what comes after. A lot of people get discouraged once they get off diets etc. But for real dude, this is an amazing achievement, best wishes to you in the future!
don't do this usually but together with this comment, I did everything in my power to push you a bit further into the algorithm. Best of luck with your medical situation and your youtube journey. I hope that one day you can come back to this video and remind yourself of how far you've come. Of course I will come back once in a while to check up on you myself :)
Congrats I just survived stage 3 cancer so am remission and recovery now. You are amazing and I love the confidence. I know it’s hard to keep it up but you got this
I made a Preston deck and with all the insane auras in this set it makes Preston like if they don’t have swords it’s over, you get SO much mana from him because it’s basically seedborne muse
